Tribute video for Congressman Duncan Hunter, who ended his candidacy for president today.
Seems to be marked private on YouTube.
I can’t find it.
He expeected to do better in Nevada. Sad. Best man for the job.
Thanks for the ping. B4DH.
Trying to find a new tagline. I liked the one I had before.
If Fred endorses McCain I’ll have no hair left because I would have torn it all out.
I hope the powers to be find a place of prominence in our government for this well deserving conservative man.
will be up shortly sorry
I went to Pissant’s page to get the DH ping list and his page is cleared. Who has the ping list? I’d like to re-float this prior suggestion to everyone.
When all the smoke clears, if Hunter doesnt get the nomination, I have one more suggestion for all of us remaining conservative freepers. It would make sense for us to have an idealogy score, a set of questions with rankings of how important the issue is and how strongly a freeper agrees/disagrees with it. We could all put these results on our home pages, so that when another freeper is debating with us (or us with them) we could just go to their home page, check their score on that issue & others, and realize Ohhh, this is a Ron Paul supporter or ohh, this guy is a small l libertarian or ohh, this guy is a Big F FISCAL Conservative and a small l social liberal.
Its okay for FR to be inundated with RINOs or have a bunch of liberals posting here, as long as theyre up front about it.
Well, we missed a golden opportunity I am sad to say. Looks like the powers that be won again.
I am very sad to see him go.
Has he made an announcement? I can’t find it. He’s a good man. I wish he could soldier on a little longer. But I understand why he can’t.
Thanks for your work and dedication, Walt.
Thanks for the ping. I’m proud of Hunter, he was my first choice.
Not feeling too great right now about things, my first & second choices (Fred Thompson) not doing great. I’m starting to get sinking feelings like I did when Carter & Clinton won.
Prayers for America, she’s gonna need each and every one of them.
I hadn’t heard this. I’m sorry, Hunter supporters. Both you and he fought the good fight.
Here’s my own personal tribute to Congressman Hunter:
I first met him in 2006, when he came in to help a very good friend of mine in his successful bid for Congress. Really didn’t know much about him before that, but he mightily impressed me with his humility, graciousness, and principled approach to politics.
Nothing I’ve seen since has changed that analysis. I’ve had a number of conversations with him over the last year, and my respect for him has only grown.
I wish him and his family nothing but the very best.
It has been a privilege to fight along side with fine young people as yourself--God bless you...
..confirmed by campaign sources...
Hunter for VP or Secretary of Defense.
..thanks for sharing that, EV—you know better than most what kind of individual he is...
Don’t think Hunter is really out. I expect that he will get a prominent role in a GOP administration. Something on the line of SecDef. So don’t grieve yet. Duncan Hunter still has important work to do.
..lets pray for the country now—she needs it badly...
..a man of DH’s character and leadership would be good anywhere...
Now who am I gonna vote for?
Guess I’ll just have to learn Spanish.
..yes, alice,we couldn’t win at the ballot box— but we can continue the fight in prayer...
..I agree Sola—it would be insanity not to have this man in leadership somewhere...
I love John Wayne's "Back to Bataan"
God Bless Duncan Hunter for:
who he is
what he tried to do
everything he would have done
...to make America an even better place.
DUNCAN HUNTER, YOU ARE THE GREATEST OF AMERICANS - THANK YOU SIR!
It seems that whenever someone good lost an election, the Bush administration would appoint him to a good position. Let’s hope that happens with Rep. Hunter. Maybe Director of Homeland Security, or Sec. of Defense? Then maybe back in the race for 2012 or 2016.
If it’s McCain or Guiliani I’m not voting in the presidential race. I’ll vote for my conservative congressman but that’s it.
Thanks for the sad ping. I have dial up so it’s going to take a while to see it.
..I’m sorry—I used to be there before I got DSL...
Pray for the country now more than ever...
..make it a root beer and it’s a deal ;0 )
God bless Congressman Duncan Hunter and his family.
I cannot believe he's dropped out. Our poor dear country, at the hands of rinos and dems.
Here’s to you, the representative of the 1 percent. The one who is misunderstood. The one who the MSM rejects and chose to ignore, dooming America to a cast of RINOS.
..I see some rough weather ahead...
..but our God can do the impossible—we’re down but not out...
I am going to write him in.
..but our God can do the impossiblewere down but not out...
***I agree. It was an honor to support Duncan Hunter. He really is the best I’ve come across. I’ll be praying for that family.

LAS VEGAS — California Rep. Duncan Hunter dropped out of the Republican presidential race after placing near the bottom of the pack in Nevada’s voting and even before the polls closed in South Carolina’s primary.
In a statement, Hunter said he recognized that his campaign had not gained “traction” and he said he will return to the House of Representatives to do legislative work on defense issues, which have been his specialty there.
“The failure of our campaign to gain traction is mine and mine alone,” he said. “But we have driven the issues of national security, the border fence, the emergence of China and the need to reverse bad trade policy. Because of that, this campaign has been very worthwhile, and for the Hunter family, a lot of fun.”
Hunter, who represented the conservative San Diego area, had never raised much money and captured almost no attention from the media or the public. His only moments in the spotlight were the many Republican debates, but even there, he was outshined by Rep. Ron Paul and the front-runners in the GOP contest.
Hunter tried to appeal to conservative voters with an aggressive message on illegal immigration and was steadfastly pro-military during his year-long run for the White House. His departure leaves six people in the race.
Thanks for pinging me. Its been great working with all of you. Hopefully, we will see Hunter run again for something like the Senate or the Governorship of California. Now, I just hope that I can find somebody decent to support for president this year.
I just saw it, it was beautiful, thank you. Sadness is riding on my shoulders.
