Michelle Obama, Chelsea Clinton visit same Midlands church

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Now that the Republican primary is over in South Carolina, it's onto the Democrats.

Sunday Michelle Obama and Chelsea Clinton attended service at the same Midlands church, and News 10 was there.

If you've ever visited Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, you know there's a lot of singing.

Sunday morning the church had two extra voices: Michelle Obama and Chelsea Clinton.

One on one side of the church, one on the other. And the congregation took note.

"I don't know. It was kinda awkward," said Evette Brown.

"Well to me I think it shows divide but I think once this is over on Saturday, I think our country will be united because we are all going to come together and rally behind whoever gets the nomination," said Sarah Brown.

Pastor Darrell Jackson, who is a senior consultant for the Clinton campaign in South Carolina, says the seating arrangements were no accident.

"It is our custom that when campaigns come that we sit one on one side, and one on the other," said Jackson.

Neither Mrs. Obama nor Miss Clinton spoke at the pulpit, but after the service they did speak to churchgoers.

"Everybody showing them love. Everybody loving them," said Latoya Boyd.

From the balcony it seemed like half the church migrated towards Obama, the other half towards Clinton -- perhaps a foreshadowing of what we'll see at the polls on Saturday.

"When I read about Obama and his target audience, the African-Americans and the women, something told me I should vote for Obama," said Eric Williams.

"I still think Hillary is a stronger candidate. I think she's the one. I think she's got the history, the experience, and I've just known of him since the candidacy," said Cecilia Williams.

"I'm undecided at this time but I'm gonna vote for one of them," said Evette Brown.

Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards also made a stop in the capital city Sunday. He took part in the NAACP's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration at Zion Baptist Church.

One of these things is not like the others,

You miscounted. There are 3 men, not just one, in the almost 2 dozen folks pictured.

Is this a greater or lesser faux pas than wearing ‘the same’ dress to a function?

Did Michelle have to sit further to the back than Chelsea?

Which one was seated further to the left?

Afterward, did they rush to the exit, to be the first to shake Pastor Jackson’s hand for the news crew’s benefit?

Did anyone have a chance to simply worship at the church service-cum-circus?

Was either of them embarrassed for the right reasons?

Five actually in that picture.

Don’t forget the one with his hand on Chelsea’s hip.

The only time these scumbags ever “attend
Church” is during political campaigns to court hopelessly naive and gullible Blacks. Then they create these wholly unChristlike divisions within the Church by playing their political games. And naturally the Blacks don’t see that they’re being used in a most cynical way.

Five actually

I missed the guy with his head bowed in front of orange shirt. I'm saying that the mystery hand belongs to a woman - notice the height. Guy holding her hand, guy in 4th row with glasses, orange shirt, and the guy with his head bowed in front and to the left of orange shirt.

That could probably be a man or woman.

I'm saying that the mystery hand belongs to a woman - notice the height.

Could be, but it looks like a suit coat from the looks of the arm. You could be right though.

For sure though, a preponderance of women.

Looks like most churches in that respect.

I guess I've been spoiled by going to a church that hasn't been feminized.

Well yea, me too.

I was talking about stats though.

And a little personal experience.

I could be wrong though.

Don’t forget - Chelsea, being sired (on paper) by Black-Bill (America’s first black president), out of Elephantiasis-Cankles, is actually half black.
