Hard to develop a lot of sympathy here. I will concede, he had a tough life (masseuse and all...)

So sad. He was actually one of the better of the young actors, Brokeback Mountain notwithstanding.

I was in a streetside (outdoor) bar on 7th avenue with some friends in the west village last summer when he strolled by. He looked like he had this coming.

God rest his soul. He was a talented 28 year-old with a young daughter. Some people really are tasteless around here.
To: WmShirerAdmirer
I often wondered how warped the Brokeback Mountain fling would effect his mind. He ran to his girlfriend right after and had a kid. But, as we are all told, what a Love Story it was . . .

Sad ...he showed real promise as the wonderful son in "The Patriot," then he seemed to choose roles for their controversy and "fringiness."

Thanks, looked for the posting but couldn’t find it, quite a few responses on other post (250 plus) to what I would call a shock and very unfortunate.

Believe me, I am saddened by this - such a shame. But you can’t help but conclude that his Brokeback Mountain experience escalated his despair!

He was actually one of the better of the young actors So many today are enamored of those who can act.
Granted, I enjoy movies for entertainment, but I don't exactly respect someone for being able to act. I mean, I don't see that being able to act is a noble quality.

Come on people he is the new Joker!
I can’t wait till the Dark Knight comes out.
But this news is sad for Batman fans like myself.

I hope he doesnt burn in hell too much for that awful piece of homo-prop he inflicted on us. Ridiculous. On so many levels, that is a ridiculous and heartless statement.

Wow hope he doesn`t burn in hell “ too much “ compassion at its finest.
In reality he left hell and it is my wish he finds himself in a better place. A Knights Tale was a fun movie that is in my DVD player quite often. Its a shame Hollywood circles encourage the behaviour that lead to another early death.

I know nothing about the relationship between the two. There have been cases where a small child was better off without her father. I know of one.
However, in my religion we do pray for those "most in need of thy mercy" including this man. And the little girl who definitely needs prayers.
So my position probably isn't as harsh as you think.

Would you listen to yourself???
First, what makes him a whiner?
Second, how do you know he off'd himself? Story says accidental.
Lastly, if it were intentional, how the HELL do you know his intention?
Some people on these threads need to grow a heart.

Very sad. An excellent actor who will be seen in “The Dark Night” as the Joker this summer.
To: pcottraux; Wolfie
The false tact of "who is he?", "he doesn't matter", and "I'm above knowing anyone current" is dismissive and disrespectful.

That’s what I thought when I first heard. Let’s hope they killed the role in the movie...I hate it when they switch actors for the same role.
Strewn with pills, and an accidental death? My God have mercy...
