"I was in a conference in Germany over the weekend and President Putin of Germany gave one of the old Cold War style speeches"
Here is the Link to above Post:
HAHA geez...Obama calls Harper the president of Canada, his wife mispronounces Nevada, and McCain calls Putin the president of Germany. Wow. I’m glad our presidential candidates are so well informed about the world /s
Can you believe these people could potentially be controlling our foreing policy??
And Dan Quayle misspelled Potatolandia!
McCain knows darn well who Putin is...it’s just a gaff. Go Romney.
Mrs. Obama’s pronunciation of Nevada is not a political concern in my book.
It’s like Bob Dole all over again.
Even Bush II made similar mistakes during his Presidential campaign. Was he old?
Attacking him for a slip of the tongue is nothing but petty.
A glass of warm milk and a nice soft blanket.......McNutz needs to start taking more naps
Oh...Johnny! Bad mistake. Bad news for you. (His appearance is disturbing, healthwise.)
This is the second time I’ve seen this on FR. We’ve got bigger problems.
If this were Romney, it would dominate the news cycle.
I know I’m going to get clobbered for saying this but I’m going to say it anyway. I’m no fan of McCain surely — but this petty stuff is beneath us. I would guess that the schedule these guys have is enough to boggle the mind. It can’t be easy. And we sit here picking apart every little thing they say and do. We’re against the Democrats, the Republicans, and the Independents? We sit here on our computers ready to jump on anything and anyone who makes a stupid mistake with words — just like the Dems didn’t miss one stutter or mispronounciation made by our President, paying more attention to the way he said something than the point of what he said. Aren’t there enough *real* issues for us to discuss? (Okay, I’ll start hiding now :)
not sure ... but I still think Prime Minester Cheese Fries was better (worse)
Who will be the most put out? Merkel or Putin????????? LOL
This is from last feb.
McCain’s senile and crazy.
Let’s keep him out of the Oval Office and away from our military.
I knew Merkel was Chancellor but didn’t know name of the president. .;))
Everyone reading this has made countless such errors.
That said....GO MITT!
Or Jerry Ford redux.
I agree but still good for a laugh?
I am sorry, but that is funny.
Well...I beg to differ. McCain is running for PRESIDENT.
A sharp and crystal clear mind is an asset. McCain looks
older than his age, very poor physical shape. He needs to lose weight and get in shape if he wants to withstand the rigors of the job.
And I agree but a little laugh at McCain’s expense never hurt anybody.
Read and learn
And click through and read the end of it. She speaks the truth.
Absolutely no way to McCain
If I have a choice of his being more of a conservative Republican or joining the YMCA fitness program, I’ll take the former. There has never been ANY president (or human being, for that matter) who hasn’t stumbled over a name, a word, etc., when tired. And as I said, I am not a fan of his — but regardless, I don’t think you’re going to find someone who can withstand pressure 24/7 and be of a “crystal clear” mind every moment. It’s not possible. I do believe you are being a wee bit petty. Perhaps you should run?
Anyone can misspeak, but McCain is too old.
Watch him in the debate on Thursday. He gets mental lapses during which he falls back on phrases he struggles to remember from his campaign stump speech. Usually when this happens he begins with “my friends” and then launches into canned fragments of his speech. He brags that he has a mother who is 95 and is still mentally sharp and physically active. My question is how old was his father when he died and what did he die from? His father contributed to McCain’s genetic makeup too. You’re right, McCain is too old. He’d be 72 when he would be sworn into office. That’s way too old.
Yes, McCain will be older than Reagan when sworn in. Ronnie had definite signs of Alzeimers in his 2nd term, and yet he was in better physical shape than pudgy McCain.
I think Perot had it right when he called McCain the classic opportunist, seeking attention and prominence where ever he can find it.
McCain wants the white house more than life itself.
I’m with most of the posters here that this is a slip of the tongue, but you bring up a valid point. If there are repeated lapses of memory and inability to finish coherent thoughts, there may be a real problem. OTOH, he could still post on FR. A lot of us have that problem.
