..agree or disagree this is Duncan Hunter's explanation, along with why he didn't endorse any of the others

Again, Hunter shows he knows how to get attention, but only after he has ended his Presidential Race.

He’s getting more coverage for endorsing Huckabee than he did for running himself.

The reason doesn't matter, just like his endorsement doesn't matter. If all of Duncan Hunter's supporters go to Huckabee he will get a 1% boost in the polls which will not counter his several point drop.

But I suspect the majority of Duncan's supporters will not follow his lead on this one.

..maybe some skilled person can do a transcript

He essentially didn't trust McCain on immigration, Giuliani on social issues, Romney on China--he personally believes Huck has changed his views on the fence and is similar to himself on social issues...

His main problem with Romney is that he is not making his former company Bane stop a deal with China. Previously this company had dealings with Sadam Hussein that built the air defense system that attacked our guys. He said that he has asked him to make the company stop this deal and Romney is just ignoring him.

Hmmmm well while I do not agree on Huckabee’s jesusism, given who else is running I can understand that he would be the least offensive to Hunter. Hunter seeees the fine print the rest of US only gets through media projections.

Process of elimination.

Rudy - No, because of his position on abortion and gun control.

McCain - No, because he’s an Amnesty supporter.

Romney - No, because of Baine and Romney’s refusal to respond to Hunter’s repeated direct questions to Mitt. Hunter opposes all things ChiCom.

So...who’s left? Huckabee, that’s who.

Nice sounding gibberish. Mitt out of the company for 8 years and this guy is holding him accountable for what it does? Hunter is anti illegal and is supporting the huckster who wants to send illegals to college on our dime? I’m glad I never bit for him. He had no support anyway.

See #21. Hedgcock said he asked Romney about this and Romney said that the deal had to be approved by our security people and he trusted them to do their jobs. So basically, he said that Romney just wants to make money and that as our Commander in Chief he should have higher standards.

Maybe because the truly conservative, humble and honorable Duncan Hunter became familiar with Romney and recognized him as a lying sack of organic fertilizer.

Huck was the only one of the pack that doesn’t stink to high heaven. Still, I can’t support Huck.

What I can’t believe, is how Freepers are now falling all over themselves to support Romney.

Huckabee and Hunter where on the same page in every debate they where in together. Huckabee and Hunter come from the same conservative philosophical mold with the same foundational beliefs.

Duncan Video: Hunter/Huckabee stand up to Clinton/Corrupt News Network plant/Romney flip-flops on gays in military

Video Huckabee: There is nothing funny about President Hillary Clinton/We cannot be soft we must be strong and defeat Islamic fascism

HUCKABEE only mentioned one person for Secretary of Defense, DUNCAN HUNTER:
‘‘What you do,’’ he [Huckabee]explained, 'is surround yourself with the best possible advice.’ The only name he [Huckabee] mentioned was Representative Duncan Hunter of California. ‘Duncan is extraordinarily well qualified to be secretary of Defense,’ he [Huckabee] said.

Hunter undoubtedly had a closer look at Huckabee than conservative media commentators who have never met Huckabee or people commenting on a forum who have never bothered to research original sources or take a close look at what Huckabee actually says rather than what others are saying about him.

Yes it appears he had a reason...not necessarily that he thought it through. I think it is sour grapes because Romney just ignored him. Hunter’s reasoning means nothing to me. If he felt so strongly about these things, he should have kept running. I think he is looking for a VP spot.

Hunter also thinks that Huckabee can be “trained out of some of his less conservative positions”.

Listening to the interview sure seems that Hunter will be there to do some the training : ).

“I’m satisfied that he thought it through.”

He may have thought it through but he comes down hard on everyone but Huck? To Huck he gives a pass on his liberal positions and record, especially Hucks pro-illegal record.
That makes no sense to me.

Yeah, I caught that too. Hunter's position is essentially that none of the remaining GOP candidates are perfect, but that Huckabee's personal character is far superior than those of McCain, Romney, and Giuliani, and that he is the lesser of the three libs in sheep's clothing.

I'm having trouble with this rationale, but I guess Hunter thinks he knows Huckabee a lot better on a personal level than many of us suspected or believed.

Yes, except the rest of these candidates apparently had NO interested in discussing the afore mentioned subjects except Huckabee. Hey does not mean I will support Huckabee, what it tells me that Hunter sized up the candidates and found the one still in the race willing and interested in what he wanted to offer. He was a NOBODY to the rest of them and HE had NOTHING they wanted to hear or discuss.

Interesting, given what fine print that comes across his desk daily.

What I can’t believe, is how Freepers are now falling all over themselves to support Romney.

Same here. I never understood the invective directed toward most of the candidates to begin with (I disagree with all of the RINOs but I don't ooze hatred of them like some here seem to). Last week it was "Flip" Romney this and that but since Fred's out apparently we're supposed to flip to "Flip".

I'm no great fan of Huckabee but, except for now agreeing to enforce the border, he really has been the most consistent of the remaining bunch.

I think my new motto might be "I may end up voting for Huck- but only because the others suck even more than he does!" I was searching facebook yesterday for a group with similar sentiment but I couldn't find one.

“. Mitt out of the company for 8 years and this guy is holding him accountable for what it does? “

And Bain is still paying the Romney family. So why can’t he disassociate himself? If he’s still making money from Bain and their Chinese deals, he has some say about this.

“Romney still retains an investment in the Cayman fund through a trust. Campaign disclosure forms show the investment paid him more than $1 million last year in dividends, interest, and capital gains.”

His main problem with Romney is that he is not making his former company Bane stop a deal with China.

What kind of logic is that? How can someone "make" his "former" company do anything? My understanding is that Romney left Bane Capital 10 years ago. With this type of thinking I'm glad Hunter is out. Although I really don't believe this is the real reason he doesn't like Romney.
