Is this any city in particular?
Is this different from the blue haze thread of an hour ago?
where is this?
are you sure it wasn’t purple?
Not that I believe its terror related but It just reminds me of the terrorists who attempted to blow up some chlorine tanks in Israel a few years ago.
Maybe it’s the return of the moth man.
As a result, emergency officials do not know the source of the smell or what the product is or its origin. Following established protocols, emergency officials have activated the Emergency Operations Center and are tracking the location of the calls.
Don’t take the brown acid.
Ode to Jimi Hendrix
What freaking City? State? Country?
You could add a hint when you post things like this.
There's a bridge nearby....
That is, until they start typing in ALL CAPS.
Then they are just being retards.
Perhaps Sheets Byrd and some buddies are a doin’ some burnin’?
Going to the link shows it to be Charleston, WV
Jimmy Hendrix has come back from the dead.
Or just click on the link and you will see it appears to be Charleston, WV.
From the picture it just looks like fog....and if it isn’t, what exactly could it be that would cause people ‘accute distress’??
Charleston WV was enveloped in a eye/lung irritating white cloud at about 1 pm....no alarms were sounded...I made calls to police and emailed newspapers. Finally there was a confusing blurb in our Daily Mail indicating that the substance was from the Bayer plant, and was an accidental release of a component of Larvin. The Daily Mail initially indicated a shelter in place for most of our county was called. Still no alarms, and the local emergency AM station was ignoring the massive cloud of gas.
Now the news continues to be confusing, and it is now stated that the cloud is from the giant coal burning John Amos power plant. At the bottom of a news article, it is indicated that a similar plant in Ohio resulted in massive injuries due to a cloud of sulfuric acid, and that the town had to be abandoned.
My lungs are still burning from this release of “whatever” in Charleston, WV.....I am disappointed in the local emergency reaction. If it HAD been more poisonous, then an entire city may have been poisoned without adequate emergency response.
It says Charleston on the picture.
....or you could click on the link and read it yourself. It’s not that hard.
Wonder how many people are actually going to get that?
Yeah, I saw that. But was not sure if it was Charleston WV or Charleston SC so I checked the link and it a station in WV.
No need to worry...
Purple haze isn’t atmospheric, it’s in your brain.
Target #1 on Doctor Evil's list.
Whoa...are you staying inside, I hope?
Since it’s dark now - do you know if the cloud of whatever is still as strong or is it dissipating?
Stay safe -and thanks for the local information- keep us posted.
One of the best ways for cotton growers to plan on harvesting more pounds of higher quality lint is with the use of LARVIN® insecticide/ovicide. Research has shown that applying LARVIN not only results in effective ovicidal and/or larvicidal action against Heliothis, but also represents an important part of a resistance management program.
Applied at the ovicidal rate, LARVIN provides three-way control other ovicides just can't match. First, LARVIN kills eggs on contact. Second, the residual activity of LARVIN kills eggs that are newly laid on spray residue. And third, LARVIN delivers powerful control of neonate larvae by ingestion of egg membrane. Since LARVIN is a selective insecticide ovicide, it won't trigger secondary pest flare-ups such as aphids.
Then it must be the moth man.
This happens about twice a week in Newark to motorists on the Pulaski Skyway.
I am not joking.
It’s John Carpenter’s “The Fog”. It calls for an Adrienne pic.
Here is a copy of the first news release posted on the Daily Mail website several hours after the chlorine smelling cloud had enveloped Charleston, WV, on 1/25/08...I emailed this to my friends as no other alarms or news sites had ANY info/notices of problem:
” Kanawha County officials on Friday afternoon called for residents to shelter in place following reports of a chemical haze with a chlorine odor in a widespread area from South Charleston to Nitro.
“No one is admitting responsibility,” said Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper. “It is a wide area with a visible haze and a noticeable smell reported as a chlorine odor.”
The Emergency Operations Center was activated about 3 p.m. today, and plants throughout the valley were contacted about the matter, he said.
“We are using the emergency broadcast system,” Carper said. “We have no information on the source, the origin, or the product. We are logging the area and complaints are coming in.”
Carper said residents were asked to shelter in place and call 911 if they felt any distress.
Update from your link:
UPDATE @ 7:58PM:
Dale Petry, the emergency services director for Kanawha County, says emergency response teams are setting up at different places around the county to monitor the haze & smell. He’s hoping special equipment on the response trucks will be able to help identify what is causing it.
Petry also confirms that county emergency officials went up in a helicopter Friday with DEP officials to see if the source of the haze cand be pinpointed — but they didn’t find anything conclusive.
According to Petry, firefighters went to chemical plants in the valley and set up monitoring systems — and no traces of any leaks were detected.
Right now: Petry says there is almost no wind, causing the cloud to stay put. He adds, though, that it is moving north slightly toward Sissonville.
No, that was the blue-green haze that was found to be caused by algae.
Low altitude chemtrail? Any black aircraft in the vicinity?
First question I’m asking is where were the Clintons when this appeared? Second, do they have any “mysterious” business investments with the people of Charleston?
It’s Bush’s fault
It's West Virginia. They're already in the hills. : )
It was hazy here too today (Duluth Mn). Kind of unusual when it’s this cold - 9’F. You’d expect it to be crystal clear. Didn’t smell or sense anything wrong. Nobody else seemes to have noticed though.
See post 34 on the insecticide (possible release material). So - I suppose they saw Moth Man and then released the gas?
Initially it was reported that the local emergency administrator was fuming with anger that Bayer had not reported the extent of a Thiodicarb leak. It was reported that firemen had spray 1 ‘barrel’ of leaking Thiodicarb, then it was revealed that at least 3 ‘barrels’ had released Thiodicarb.
Then this story was removed, and no record of it is available to my search.
Here is haz mat info on Thiodicarb....pretty nasty?
Not like the old classics, but has some potential.
See # 39- the latest update says they went to all the local plants and find no leaks at them..
Can you still smell it?
