The Clinton Family Playbook -- 1992 revisited

Watching a YouTube clip

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mONn0VL_2Lc

of Hillary dealing with the Carolina loss to Obama, what struck me was seeing her using the Bill Clinton tactic, used against Paul Tsongas in 1992, that ultimately won him the nomination.

The Clinton tactic/rule is — if you’re getting beat, BECOME the candidate who’s beating you. Assume their positions, their speeches, and then try to be a MORE SINCERE VERSION of them then they themselves are. Like the North Vietnamese army, "pull them close to you" and become them. Just be BIGGER then they are.

Hillary has upped the ante by playing the game at 2 levels — that is, while the candidate (then Bill, now Hill) is morphing into the competition, the campaign's hit-men (then Begala, now Bill) attacks the competition at the knees, using every dirty trick available. Put aside the cognitive dissonance of BECOMING and ATTACKING. They are contraditory, but the work together nonetheless.

THIS is the Clinton family playbook.

Listen to the video, and hear the patently false delivery of Hillary. This is HER trying to be Obama. Then her voice rises and the real Hillary comes out.

Here's hoping Obama is tougher than Tsongas was in 1992.

What’s next? Perhaps Hillary in black face, declaring that she’s a man trapped in a woman’s body?

I like the analysis, at least.

Well, of course he is. Tsongas lost big-time to Clinton in SC a decade and a half ago.

It would not surprise me.

Please pass the popcorn. Actually, if you have any microwave pork rinds, that would even be better. I have depleted my supply until tomorrow.

Obama isn't beat up by cancer.
Tsongas still pulled alomost 300 delgates at the convention, even after he pulled out of the race and supported Clinton.

Jane (Hanoi) Fonda beat BJ to this tactic.

I long for that day also. I could not watch Bubba for 10 seconds during his time in our House. If she seizes power, well it will just make my decision to not watch television much even a better one.

The thing is....ha ha ha....a LOT of Dems are also beginning to not be able to watch her either......sorta nice.
