Brattleboro Town Officials Harassed Over Bush-Cheney Arrest Petition
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- Town officials in Brattleboro are being inundated with complaints from across the country about a decision to let voters decide whether arrest warrants should be issued for President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
Town Clerk Annette Cappy said the "nastiness" of the calls prompted the town office to stop answering its phones Monday.
One message from a Minnesota man said he'd like to see terrorists cut off the heads of some Brattleboro officials.
Brattleboro police said they will prosecute anyone whose messages cross the line and harass town officials.
Town officials say the petition that led to ballot measure complied with the law. Petition organizers say the measure was symbolic.

I live about 35 miles north of Brattleboro. Great town but the loons have run and won seats on the board. My sister lives there and said a lot of the locals never put much importance on these people and after allowing people to walk nude in the middle of town, it has woken a lot of people up.
Many far far left people live there and are very politically active. I sure hope the normal thinking people think to vote in November and vote these idiots out.
By the way, the whole state is not that crazy !

When we finally do get around to the divorce we need to ensure it’s done on a county basis and not a state basis. Most of Vt. like most of Md. excluding the two or three goof counties is perfectly normal.
Last time I drove through Brattleboro I exercised my free speech and flipped off some moonbats protesting on a street corner. Its a socialist cesspool ... second only to Northampton, Mass.
Sorry, the entire state is certifiable though not all the people. They put burnie and layhey in the US Senate after all. LOL I know we are outnumbered two to one. BTW I live in Bratt. Sad I know.

Who in the world writes such moronic schlock? Don't you realize that this, together with the idiocy of the town's managers of putting to a vote whether or not to issue a warrant for the arrest of Bush and Cheney, simply serves to make Brattleboro a laughingstock in the nation? A single large coal-fired electrical generation plant that uses a million tons of coal per year puts into the environment without any control at all many thousands of times more radioactive waste than many comparable nuclear plants all together have in the entire history of their existence. This is because there are naturally occurring radioactive elements in coal in the amounts of several parts per million. By contrast, a year's quantity of high level radioactive waste from a typical light water nuclear power plant will fit easily under a card table.
Not before putting it up for a vote they won't!
It's time to roll up the streets, pack up their belongings, and stick all these pukes in a federal prison.

I urge you to reconsider. This is a lovely area and could be a paradise with the correct policies. It is a small town and few vote. If we could tip the balance we could run them out of here. Your advice of course is well taken. I intend to stand for office next year. Probably won't make it, but I will give them hell trying.

Believe it or not there is a sliver of conservatvie thought around town in the business community, but the loonies really seem to have taken over the insane asylum lately.
However, I think Cheney would actually have the balls to go there and see which moronic Officer Muldoon would be stupid enough to try to horse-collar him. LOL

I moved on to other things -- the hippie-dippie classmates of mine from wealthy areas of Mass., NY and NJ, stayed to colonize Vermont anew, something that became immeasurably easier after 18 year-olds were given the right to vote. They were then able to take over town meetings, and after that, the state government. You could have seen it coming: their motto, after all, was "Smash the State," and the Green Mountain State was the first to go.
The native Vermonters who remained -- and remember, Vermont's chief export has always been people -- are merely stage props, costumed actors in the left-wing theme park of the absurd that Vermont has become.
Not only is Brattleboro one of the most sophisticated and elegant towns in the world, its citizens have the highest average IQ’s in America. Brattleboro is one of the few areas in the U.S. whose citizenry are able to read the U.S. Constitution with reading scores above the eight-grade level. And they are obviously high on the scale of non-bigotry. Their air is fresh and pure, their heads clear; their logic flawless. They are America’s true Patriots.
Hmmm.... This sounds like a good place to start burying large stores our nuclear waste.
