Now that the Sunshine has set, two old friends come to an understanding.
McCain topper Rick Davis quietly negotiated the agreement.
HALPERINS TAKE: 10 things Giuliani could have done differently.
Giuliani, in Florida concession speech, talked about his effort in the past tense, but said nothing explicit about dropping out or The Deal.

oh dear god........
I agree. As I said on another thread, I see little difference between McCain and Romney, so I’ll just celebrate Giuliani’s probable departure.
In some countries they call it a coups.
Just saw this on CNN.
” I see little difference between McCain and Romney”
Not looking very hard, are you?
One guy ran against illegal immigration in 1994 and has vowed to come down hard on the side of enforcement. The other? Amnesty city.
One guy would flunk a high school ecnomics class with his 0% interest rates. The other, well, didn’t exacty vote against tax cuts.
Exactly. They’re both RINOs, but McPain is nuts.
The GOP establishment lurks again. They’re throwing all their weight behind McCain. The GOP wagon is going to come crashing down to Earth this November.
Whooppee...
If Thompson and Guiliani endorse McCain, ait would take a miracle for him not to get the nomination.
If that is true, then Fred will probably be next.
Maybe Fred won’t endorse McCain.
I don’t trust McCain on illegal immigration amnesty. I dont trust him on taxes and the economy. I don’t trust him on nominating for SCOTUS. I don’t trust him not to take away more of our Constitutional right. I don’t trust him not to be a hothead bully.
I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him... not on anything.
This is not surprising, and many were expecting it. If McCain is President, look for Giuliani to have an important role, perhaps as Attorney General. But it’s very unlikely that we will see a McCain/Giuliani ticket, given that conservatives are uneasy with McCain as it is.
I do believe McCain will probably beat Hitlery fairly easily.
We're looking at a President Obama come next year. Who would have ever thought such a thing.
Probably. The other Republican candidates seem to dislike Romney.
Crist was a kingmaker.
I CANNOT vote for McQueeg. I’ll go third party or write in
but the RNC will never see a drop of my money again.
I’m starting to... nevermind
If Fred endorses MCAMNESTY I am skipping this election. I was going to write in Fred, but why bother.
What is it about the possiblity of FDT endorsing McCain that intrigues so many here? What could possibly be their stake in such a revoltin’ development?
BTTT for later.
Most of us will be dead before another Republican occupies the White House.
I think Fred will be silent, or endorse Romney. He won’t endorse McCain, no matter how good of friends they are. Fred and McCain are 180 degrees opposite each other in political ideology.

They want illegal immigrant amnesty, and they know Juan McCainez will deliver. Hell, he has MEXICAN OFFICIALS on his campaign staff!! Read all about it: http://michellemalkin.com/2008/01/25/john-mccains-open-borders-outreach-director-the-next-dhs-secretary/
**oh dear god........**
Are you praying?
“I agree. As I said on another thread, I see little difference between McCain and Romney,”
Egads, whats 12 million illegal immigrants getting citizenship to you? A small number?
McCain won big due to support from pro-aborts, moderates, proamnesty supporters and people angry with Bush about the war.
Question for freepers: Is that who should be running the GOP?
I’m sooooo disgusted with the GOP. It’s not only been triangulated, but fooled by the mushy-brained and uninformed. I’m sickened to think that John McCain will be the GOP nominee. Seriously, I’m thinking of moving to a third world country just to get a jump on the USA becoming one.
I doubt that.
...but a Conservative? Perhaps.
If McCain is their candidate, they will.
Fred’s the smartest guy in the room.
He didn’t endorse anyone.
Thompson backed McCain-Feingold, and was one of only 4 in Congress to back McCain for President last time around.
So 2008 is the year we become a socialist republic. It was fun while it lasted. Time to shrug.
Yet. But, yes, you are right. Maybe he’s keeping his powder dry.
Why am I not surprised?
Sean must be happy with his Roody Doody infomercials.
This proves LIKE HELL he would have nominated conservative judges.
Eight years is an eternity in politics.
“Establishment of the Party, unite!”
What is it about the possiblity of FDT endorsing McCain that intrigues so many here? What could possibly be their stake in such a revoltin development?
Simply put: Its their very rational sense of being betrayed. Big time, betrayed.
Nuclear weapons are the “easy button”
Fred has publicly said he would support whomever wins the nomination.
Interesting. McCain ended up with a lot of “Giuliani’s votes”...Giuliani goes for McCain’s VP...McCain is a one-termer at best if he wins, and Giuliani is up next...magritte
I can’t stand McCain, but I trust him more than Hillary or Obama
I don’t care any more about who Rudy endorses than who Rosie endorses!
