Unseal files, Susan McDougal asks - Whitewater details needed for movie on her life, she says
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (excerpt, subscription required) ^ | January 30, 2007 | Linda Satter

Excerpt -

LITTLE ROCK — Susan McDougal of Camden, a friend and former business partner of President Clinton’s who became well-known in the late 1990s for refusing to cooperate with a special Whitewater prosecutor, on Tuesday sought to have her federal grand jury testimony unsealed.

“There’s going to be a movie produced about Susan’s role in this [the Whitewater investigation], and there’s some information in her grand jury testimony that’s relevant to that, and Susan and I think the public ought to have aright to know about it,” said her attorney, Bobby McDaniel of Jonesboro.

McDaniel said the testimony, as well as related court pleadings, if unsealed, “will be embarrassing to our government, frankly. ... Most reasonably minded people will think it’s ridiculous.”

~ snip ~

McDaniel noted that his son, Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, who is a state co-coordinator of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, isn’t involved in the project.

In an ambitious attempt at creative casting, Susan McDougal will be portrayed by Charlize Theron. Personally, I think Britney Spears would be a more apt choice.

Wait: didn’t she go to jail expressly to prevent the release of any such information?

Actually, I’m pretty confused too. I thought she was in jail because she WOULD NOT testify.

That's the way I remember it. She could not testify truthfully because it would get her and the Clinton's in deep trouble. Her repeated statements "Ken Star wanted me to Lie" in answer to why she did not testify were interesting logic that was bought by the MSM. If she testified honestly she would go to jail, so that darn Star was forcing her to lie to stay out of trouble.

And the only reason why they're cooperating with this movie is because it will be a fictionalized version of events which makes Ken Starr the villan and her the heroine, right?

When it’s expedient for Susan she wants the information release. When it’s expedient for the WHOLE COUNTRY, mmmm...not so much.

Selfish little toy of Slick Willie and the Hilliary, she was.

They need to unseal the files for a movie but not for a campaign?

Screw her. Either the public has a right to know or we don’t. We DON’T have a pressing need to have her filtered take on it.

We saw in Monica’s case that the Clintons PAID people to lie under oath for them and encouraged them to do so.

We know the technique they used to avoid conviction for their crimes.

I dunno. Charlize Theron is an amazing actress who did a pretty amazing job portraying a female criminal lowlife in "Monster":

You really have to wonder....what idiot would go to jail...for Bill Clinton...rather than provide testimony? Its amazing to watch people as they stand up and side with Bill over and over and over...for nothing.

Re: Charlize Theron

Please let us put “acting” in it’s proper perspective. The epitome of an “acting” career is an Academy award. It separates those truly talented people that have spent a lifetime honing their “craft”.

Tatum O’Neil won an Oscar for her FIRST film role in Paper Moon at TEN years of age.

Haing S. Ngor won his Oscar for taking time off from his medical practice so he could make his FIRST film called The Killing Fields.

So for the life of me I don’t understand the greatest of oxymorons, a talented actor

She can’t remember her own GJ testimony??? Typical clintonite type of request...She obviously can’t remember the story she told then and is afraid to tell a different story that doesn’t match the first one, lest she be retried again...

Not sure what your point is, but as far as I am concerned watching Charlize Theron’s portrayal of Eileen Wuornos was a jaw dropping, absolutely astonishingly brilliant performance.

If her performance in that film was not great acting, then there has never been great acting in any film.
