No need to trash him...but I can disagree with him. In an election cycle where many are down to 3rd choices...there is going to be divergence. I will continue supporting Romney over McCain until the issue is settled and one or the other has the requisite delegates.
Ted Olsen has sold his soul. Twice. Giuliani and now McCain. Very sad.
No trashing from me...just disappointed he is backing mccain.
Ted comes from Giulianis campaign. He goes from Giuliani to McCain. What’s to admire in his judgement from a conservative point of view?
I like Ted Olson. It would be great if McQueeg nominated him to the USSC. But even if I -knew- that would happen and that he’d be confirmed, there’s still no way I’m voting for McQueeg.
Ted Olsen is a good guy just misguided in this particular instance.
Arizona Sen. John McCain has introduced federal legislation to protect talk radio shows from the reinstatement of past rules that required dissenting voices be given equal time on their shows.
McCain and fellow GOP Senators John Thune of South Dakota and Norm Coleman of Minnesota have put forward legislation preventing the reinstatement of the 'Fairness Doctrine'.
The Fairness Doctrine was done away with in 1987 but previously required political radio shows to offer equal time to opposing viewpoints as part of their Federal Communications Commission licenses.
A number of Democrats and liberal advocates want the Fairness Doctrine put back in place. They do not like the fact talk radio is dominated by conservatives such as Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and Laura Ingraham.
McCain said imposing such rules would stifle free speech and there are plenty of political viewpoints in the marketplace.
Conservative radio talkers have criticized McCain for his stance in favor of immigration reform.
uhmnnn...Ted Olsen.. I suppose next to endorse McCain will be Barbara Steisand and Pat Robertson.! That’s why I’m going to give my nod to Huck.
What is our country coming too???!! :-(
People, Ted Olsen is a Giuliani Ho. Quit giving him so much credit.
Ted, like so many others, has spent too much time in Washington DC. He had his choice of conservatives to support, he chose instead to support Rudy and now McCain.
I see nothing there to praise from a conservatives point of view.
He is supporting a man who has stated unequivocally that he would not touch a hair on a jihadists head in order to save one or more innocent American lives.
What should I do, admire Olsen for supporting that man for CIC?
McCain deserves MORE than talk radio scorn. He deserves to be sent home. He is a Ted Kennedy turd.
He is a liar and a shill for the elites in DC.
Ted Olson, big f’n deal.
Ted Olson is a lawyer and has been around Washington long enough to be referred to as an insider. Endorsements from such people do not affect me at all. When I vote I do not take political advice from lawyers or insiders. If that one statement of fact and one statement of opinion is trashing Ted Olson, so be it.
Unbelievable.
Excellent. If McCain is it, Ted would be a good addition
in picking judges.
The forum is being flooded with posts idolizing Romney. I think a post or two NOT trashing McCain shows a little balance here.
BKO must be spinning in her grave.
Conservative radio talkers have criticized McCain for his stance in favor of immigration reform.
Not surprising.....another from the beltway establishment endorsing one of his own. He had me fooled for sure. I always thought he was a conservative.
