Just the fact that it’s plausible is all you need to know. Also, those DEMs play smart and dirty.

He should have gone through with it. It would hvae been the first honest thing he has done in his political career.

As Goober Lindsey Graham would say, “Republican by day, Democrat by night”

I hope McCain becomes as irrelevant as Daschle is.

The only positive thing about John McCain becoming President is that he wouldn’t have to deal with himself in the Senate.

More evidence to corroborate what Rush Limbaugh said, a McCain nomination would destroy the GOP. Rush, as usual, is right.

“following an approach by John Weaver, McCain’s chief political strategist”

mcpain is one of the us congressional reps whose true political persona is 100% MORE accurately understood by knowing and understanding the people behind him than by the facade he presents in public

all of those behind him are right at home in the company of people like Kennedy, Feigngold, Clinton et al, while he continues the pretense in his “conservative” facade

He nearly abandoned the GOP...and now he wants to take all of it with him.

Is Daschle really a reliable source? Don’t get me wrong - I believe this. And I also believe them when they say McCain asked to be Kerry’s running mate. But Daschle’s been in the news WAYYY too much lately for my tastes. The man was a loser, and he needs to go away.

When Kerry was humiliated as it leaked he repeatedly begged McCain to join and save his failing ticket, FR had a lot of fun laughing at his desperation. Now the humiliation is on FR itself as it relies on John Kerry to attack McCain.

Conan and McCain

Conan O’Brien had McCain on last night. To paraphrase:

Conan: Is there any truth to the talk you would consider being Vice President on the Kerry ticket to create a bipartisan juggernaut

McCain: I was a POW in Vietnam. For several years I was kept in a dark corner, void from reality, and fed scraps. Do you think I want to go through that again

Also

McCain: The Vice President has two primary duties, break ties in the Senate, and check daily on the health of the president, neither of which are very challenging.

It was funny if you saw it.

Romney's ad against McCain in FLorida showed the news clip where McCain said he would consider running as Kerry's VP. All these meetings are damning but the evidence rests with McCain's own words.

McCain consistently shot down the rumors, though Weaver acknowledged this week that the senator did talk to Democrats about leaving the GOP.

#####

From January 21st until Jeffords threw the control of the Senate to the dems, McCain was doing everything he could to put roadblocks in the way of President Bush getting anything that he had campaigned on through the Congress. He was playing with Daschle to make himself feel like the most important man in theSenate —— because of his intractable anger against President Bush.

He would be a disaster if he would become the Chief Executive of our country. Of course, he never will.
