Well, if the only thing McCain needs to do in a possible administration of his is to nominate a couple of Supreme Court justices...

Maintain the effort on the Global War on Terror...

Stay the hell away from my guns...

Be unable to Veto a immigration ENFORCEMENT bill...

Twist his arm, to the point of breaking it, on getting the tax cuts made permanent...

4 years of that, basically, could be more tolerable than Hillary or Obama...

But I sure as hell am not going to like it either way...

This is getting beyond insane. While I admire McCain for his service, he wasn't my pick. However, need I remind people of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Janet Reno, Donna Shilala (sp?), etc...Hillary made Bill put them into their respective positions. Can you imagine what she would do unfiltered?????????

There will be 2-3 SCOTUS openings in the next 3-5 years. Conservatives are going to stay home and let communism takeover?????? What the heck is a matter with everybody?

Don't vote for Mccain, vote against Hillary.

....and what’s our alternative? President Hillary Rodham Clinton or President Barack Obama, socialized medicine, losing the war in Iraq, allowing Al-Qaeda to run wild for 4 years, exploding deficits, huge tax increases, and a liberal leaning Supreme Court for the next decade. ..

If Obama is the Dem nominee, then without a doubt I will hold my nose and pull the lever for McCain. If Hillary is the nominee, I might just have to vote Third Party. I know I will catch heat for this, but oh well.

That is why I say it could happen in reverse.

Last night on either The O’Reilly Factor, or on Hannity and Colmes, Ann Coulter said she would vote for Hillary if McCain becomes the nominee. I could not believe my ears

By splitting the party, TR gave us Wilson and the debacle known as WWI.

Belgium I would not mind so much. At least they make a nice chocolate. I'm afraid it would turn out more like Venezuela.

Under Hussein Obama, it might turn out more like Kenya or the former Yugoslavia.

I am not going to vote for the author of the CIR bill.

McLame is a drooling arrogant old fool and should not be trusted to be a leader.

If he wins, fine, but I am not going to help him by giving a betrayer like him my vote.

It should be expected that a committed and dedicated group of conservatives such as we have here at FR would be inflexible with regard to a candidate like McCain, whose ideology is so incompatible on several key issues.

However, our President will confront far more than illegal immigration and campaign finance issues.

I appreciate that folks here hold to their ideals, but I hope you will not let your strong political views cloud your judgment of a man who himself was dedicated enough to fight for his country and suffer at the hands of our enemies in a way that none of us has had to endure. It’s nonsense to compare a McCain to a Clinton when viewed in this light.

If the choice comes down to this sort of honorable American and Hillary Clinton, I hope that course of action becomes obvious this November. Please don’t sit on your hands and let an American war hero fall to the likes of Mrs. Clinton.

Splitting the party has already happened... and the RNC hacks in D.C. did it to themselves...

There are even more stupid Republicans who think a nut like McCain should be president

Yes, much smarter to have Hitlery get in and get lots more of our soldiers killed, eh?

I’m not for McCain either but I cannot stand the thought of allowing those slimy, vulgar, self-serving thieves back in our White House so they can defile it and steal what’s not bolted down.

This is the Rove “where else can they go” theory.

worked really well for Bob Dole.

The author does not “get it”

Voting is a personal statement for Republicans.

2006 has proven this is a utterly disproven tactic.

People will NOT hold their nose in enough numbers to matter. It is REALITY.

Some might.
Some might not.
The theory will nevery work.

I am not for McCain and will vote on Tuesday for Romney, but the author is right. Should McCain be the nominee I will hold my nose and vote for him. I would never forgive my self if I would stay home in November, like so many freepers plan and therefor throw the election to Hillary or Obama

Amen.

What is funny, it seems to be the Fred Thompson/Duncan Hunter guys talking about not voting and yet it was the Ron Paul supporters who were the ones who were suppose to leave the GOP, form a third party and give the election to the Democrats.

McCain's vice President choice will be crucial and if he selects a conservative, we need to unite.

McCain will likely only be a one termer with his failing health.

McCain is no hero...

Bob Dole was a hero, but that didn’t count for $hit in the election.
