like Steve Forbes but I can’t believe he’s thinking with his brain. McCain is far more likely to raise tax rates than he is to cut them.

Steve is a big open borders fan. No wonder he supports McCain. He is looking forward to the amnesty that will come after the election.

Forbes endorsement of McCain, along with all of the other high profile endorsements for McCain, undoubtedly was generated by a favor owed, or a future favor expected. McCain has, after all, run for president before and remained a senator after his defeat. He has been in a position of power in the senate for some years and had enough control to get the McCain Feingold bill passed along with other significant legislation. He has attacked and knifed Pres Bush with impunity and now expects loyalty for himself if he is elected to replace him. The endorsements rolling in for McCain are not spur of the moment. Much has been going on in planning his run and this is a part of it. The one thing we can garner from some of these supporters is that we did not know them as well as we thought we did. I start with Guiliani, who I thought was sincere in his run but looking back it seems I was snookered big time. He was merely playing his part, leading up to the Florida primaries. I cannot wait for the books to come out when this is all over telling how this whole McCain presidential campaign was set up.

I must add that I never supported Rudy Guiliani, I just thought he was a good candidate with qualities that I admired. Big disappointment for me.

after failing in a past presidential run, Forbes MUST be looking for some final role in government before he completely retires

mcpain is as anti-business, anti-capitalist of a populist as any rino could be - the antithesis of the pro-business, pro-free enterprise history of Forbes

....”and now we have McCain as our front man. and we’re supposed to trust him? He’s fortunate to be running against hillary. If Obama were the nominee I think he’d get crushed”....The whole fish stinks from head to tail and we get to choose Larry, Curly or Moe?

not possible. you are talking about a conservative party with very little percentage, say 20%. Same group that supported tancredo, paul, and what’s left of some faction of huckabee.

All the establishment is lining up. especially the old republican dogs that are in their twilight years looking for a terminal position to serve their country. it is what it is.

“Better yet. A new third party.”

Yeah. That’s worked real good. Start by sending me your money. I’ll organize the whole thing for you and yours. I’ll get you a newsletter and a website.

(But check first with Perot, Buchanan, Browne, Nader, Anderson, Wallace, Teddy Roosevelt and a few others.)
