It has been noted many times here in To The Point that while most folks think the CIA is a right-wing outfit, it is not. The CIA has been dominated by left-wing hyper-liberals for years.

The CIA is neither Right nor Left. The CIA is a secretive, self-perpetuating bureaucracy which exists for the benefit of its current members and their quest for power, personal security, and wealth

I don’t know if this story is true, but I do know what I was told in April of 2000 when I went through the SERE Level C course at Ft. Bragg, NC. SERE is the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape school that all Green Berets and Pilots and helicopter crews go through when they can. This school has the still classified debriefings from prisoners in the Hanoi Hilton and from the first gulf war. In some of the debriefings from the Hanoi Hilton era our instructors told us how John McCain was, while not maybe a full blown, know to talk to his captors. John McCain even had a nickname in the camp. I don’t remember it, but it was something like Pidgeon, or Parakeet, because he used to “sing like a bird” with just the threat of a beating. John McCain is no hero. His little hero act has disgusted me since 2000 when I heard of this.

“Are you dense? It seems to me that if you are going to attempt a discussion you should at least keep track. Is it this frustrating to have a conversation with you in the real world?”

You haven’t shown how a McCain or even a Hillary presidency would be tantamount to their becoming bonafide enemies of the state, which is what you seem to be saying.

This has long been the "whisper campaign" on his POW stay and anyone with more than a passing view on McCain knows about the infamous temper and foul mouth.

He may or may not be the nominee in November. It's a little too late to worry about this kind of thing about McCain now. The votes are cast. He's the defacto GOP nominee unless he exits the race.

"What rot - [the CIA] paid for it. We recruited Bill the first week he was at Oxford. Bill's been an asset of The Three Bad Words ever since."

The Grand Wallah of Isflam (because everything he says is flam) Bill Clinton -- even before he founded Isflam -- was a master of dissimulation. I don't doubt that the CIA paid him but . . . .

I wonder if McCain was referencing the incident at the Hanoi Hilton alleged in this Feb 2008 post, when he stated in his acceptance speech:
A lot of prisoners had it worse than I did. I’d been mistreated before, but not as badly as others. I always liked to strut a little after I’d been roughed up to show the other guys I was tough enough to take it. But after I turned down their offer, they worked me over harder than they ever had before. For a long time. And they broke me.

When they brought me back to my cell, I was hurt and ashamed, and I didn’t know how I could face my fellow prisoners.
