Vanity: Prayers and immigration advice needed for a South African lady
beaversmom ^ | February 3, 2008 | beaversmom

We have an acquaintance from South Africa. She's in this country legally, but if her paperwork expires she will be forced to return to South Africa. Immigration is holding her up. Some of her specific situation I can't divulge to the forum at large, but over the years--she's been here 8 or 9 years now--she's paid $45,000 trying to get her greencard. She's a good person. She is skilled. She's a Christian. I don't know what it's going to take to get her over the hump, but if it doesn't get resolved by June, she'll have to probably go back. She won't have anymore resources to come back to the U.S. if she gets sent back. When so many people do it the wrong way, it's a shame that someone doing things legally will be penalized.

Of course I don’t want to put illegals at the front of the line. I do want a way to have people like these get a quick and fair hearing.

Although, I must say that many people advised the woman I spoke about to just stay on illegally. She probably wouldn’t have been caught, and her case would have been an argument for allowing illegals to get citizenship. I would have a lot of sympathy for someone in her circumstances who did choose to stay anyway.

First you have posted this before.

The situation says to me that the woman has made some sort of false asylum claim. Is that the case?

If it is she needs to go back home and get in line.

I’m surprised. I have a friend who came to this country legally from Indonesia as a tourist about eight years ago. She now has a green card and is rapidly on her way to becoming a citizen. And believe me, she did not have $45K to throw at the problem. I spoke to the INS on her behalf. The process didn’t seem that onerous.

Were you a hall monitor in a former life? I never posted a thread about this. I posted in one or two immigration threads about her.

Also, you are talking out your you know what. I think you have a tendency to jump to false conclusions based on knowing nothing about the sujbect. Where the heck do you get false asylum? What are you talking about?

You know nothing about her case. She has done things the legal way. The immigration system is severely messed up in this country.

This thread was posted in good faith to get prayers and advice. If you don’t have any to offer, keep your trap shut.

Well if you read some of the other accounts on this thread it is not that easy for all. I don’t know why the difference, but some people face years of stumbling blocks. I know a lady from Eritrea. I don’t know all the facts about her becoming a citizen, but it doesn’t seem like she faced much of a problem either like your friend. It’s a big bureaucratic machine and I don’t claim to understand the inner workings and reasoning of it.

Joining with you and your friend in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and guidance through the maze called immigration.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6

May you soon learn that all will be well.

If you are asking for prayers for this lady, she will have them! I don’t understand why the Lord is permitting these problems to arise for her, but we will pray that the Father of Miracles will do one of His miracles in this case.

Prayers sent. I have a friend going through a very similar situation. Spent most of his life here in the states, high school, college, etc. Trying to get permanent residence here, and it’s really hard when you follow the rules. And he insists on following the rules.

And he insists on following the rules. As does our friend. She is so patient. She's really bent over backward to do whatever it takes but it's still not enough. The worry of it is starting to affect her health now. She's definitely running out of time. Thanks for your prayers. Best wishes and prayers for your friend too.

Thank you. My friend would also have to leave at the end of June, so we are on a similar timeline.

Given your foul mouth I'm sure your prayers are going to do wonders for her.

And for you to say she has done things the legal way is pure BS. I would bet she came here from south African country trying to claim the old genital mutilation con and it does not work anymore.

There is no other way to explain away the money. Tell her to go home.

Oh I've got the foul mouth. That was hardly foul and BTW you are the one that started crap with me.

And now you not only know all about this South African lady you have never met, you know what God thinks about my prayers. Amazing powers you have there.

BTW, she's of Dutch decent. Not too many people of Dutch/European decent into genital mutiliation.

Tell her to go home.

She's a fine Christian person and is an asset to this country. Lots better than some of my judgemental countrymen.

Maybe you should avoid my posts from now on. I don't enjoy interacting with people that like to start crap just to start crap. You seem to enjoy doing that.

Why don't you avoid your little silly vanities.

Your little friend lost her bogus claim now she is going to be deported, end of story. The courts have ruled against her. They need good Christian women, you statement, in Africa also.

Why didn’t you avoid this thread if it was just a silly little vanity? Do you post nasty comments on other prayer threads?

BTW no courts have ruled against her and she won’t be deported. If her papers expire, she will return to her country on her own. Once again you are talking out of your rectum. I think you have mental problems.

You do realize, moonbeam, that there is a religious section for your vanity posting.

It would have been moved there if it wasn’t in the appropriate section. It’s not thread about religion, moonbeam back at ya.
