This thread will be zapped in 5,4,3,.....

Really. Hmmm, seems to be about 80 and counting. BTW, you wouldn't happen to be a McCain supporter by any chance?

I am very disappointed in Romney and McCain...McCain is a moderate. Romney was pro-abortion and pro-gay rights until five minutes ago. Huckabee is a social conservative but a fiscal moderate.

Who cares anymore! (But I will vote against Hillary!)

Here’s what’s wrong w McCain:
Poking Bush & Conservatives in the eye for his own benefit.
Calling those opposing his so called ‘immigration reform’ plan “racist”.
Ignorant Energy policy and belief in Global Warming,
Continually conceding to liberal criticism of conservative policies by accepting bumper sticker logic.
No depth of understanding on critical issues.
‘Gang of 14’ giving up on prohibiting filibuster of Judicial nominees.
He DOES NOT believe in Judicial restraint.
Handcuffing the military in the execution of their duties.
Naïve foreign policy objectives.
Lack of support for Israel.

There are no good reasons to vote for McCain, Romney, Hucklebee or Paul.

A vote for Romney is a vote for a brokered convention. McPain wins enough states Tuesday, and Mitt and his money go home. If he feels that he wins enough states, he might well hang on until a convention that will not nominate him under any circumstances less than a majority of the votes needed to win the nomination. Hucksterbee and the Paulbots will always hold at least 5-10% away from both McCain and Romney.

It's a desperate strategy, but its the only one I have left.

Around FR, we’re all well aware of McCain’s shortcomings.

I was exposing Willard the Myth.

Neither man represents conservatism and neither man deserves to be the GOP nominee!

Then you’ll love this sentiment:

If this country has no option but to flounder in the abyss of liberal theology, there is no sense in having a RINO at the helm to have the blame assigned to Republicans.

Mitt is a liberal too!, Believe me, as soon as he is elected, he will run from his new found conservatism back to his Massachusetts liberal roots at the speed of stink! There is one conservative left and that’s Ron Paul. I would rather deal with the threat of terrorism from without than creeping communism from within.

If the viable choices remain McCain, Romney, Hillary or Obama, then conservatives are screwed and America will shift further leftward.

The GOP has severely damaged itself by not adhering to conservative principles. Reagan began to dig the grave for Rockefeller Republicanism in 1976 and by 1980 it was buried. 28 years later its made a resurgence thanks to the liberal domestic policies of Bush43 and a growing ambivalence by spineless Congressional Republicans.

My point was, Romney is not the answer!

My counter-point was that if it’s not Romney, I’d just as soon its a dem so at least they get the blame for everything that gets screwed up.

In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate—look to his character. . . . When a citizen gives his suffrage to a man of known immorality he abuses his trust; he sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, he betrays the interest of his country.

[Noah Webster, Letters to a Young Gentleman Commencing His Education to which is subjoined a Brief History of the United States (New Haven: S. Converse, 1823), pp. 18, 19.]

______________________________________________________________________
(Prophetic)
When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be sqandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.

[Noah Webster, History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337, 49.]

I think ALL the candidates on both sides -— D&R -— will screw things up. That includes Romney.
