To those of you that that stood for your Conservative principles today, I offer my respect and appreciation.

Losing FRed and Duncan was a tremendous blow for us, and a loss for our Country. Standing on principle may not be the most admired action in today's world, but in tomorrow's world, many will wish they had the courage and integrity that you showed today.
I'm proud to be a Conservative, and to have supported a Conservative candidate like FRed Thompson, as well, you should be of Duncan Hunter.
After the general is over with, and the DUmmies have taken the White House, many across our Country will have doubts about their own principles and integrity, and will rue the day they decided not to support the only two REAL Conservative candidates.

As a Romney supporter, I’ll salute you guys, too. I have no problem with those who vote on conservative principles and what they believe.

I do have major problems with McCain, but that’s for another thread...

I’ll salute Fred, but I question Hunter’s judgment on backing Huckabee. Both are top notch conservatives though.

No one's perfect—not even Fred, Duncan or Reagan. Romney is even less perfect, but is still far better than either of McCain or Huckabee. I voted for Romney today. Not with any enthusiasm. But not holding my nose, either.

I will not vote for either McCain or Huckabee. I'll vote third-party instead.

Amen.

Conservative hopes died after South Carolina - just a RINOfest after that.

Maybe McCain picks a conservative VP. We'll see.

McCain will have to pick Fred or a Conservative for a VP. He knows how much the base despises him.

(Of course, if he’s stupid enough to pick a liberal like Scumney or Huckster, he can go take a long walk off a short pier).

I really don’t think Fred wants to be VP. I really don’t.

I think he might accept it IF he saw a danger and felt he could be of real use to the Country, otherwise, I highly doubt it.

I do appreciate his not endorsing anyone before today, and, I would like him not to endorse anyone at all. Yet, politics are politics, after all, and he might just do that.

I broke down and voted the lesser evil today: Huckabee. I split my delegate votes between Fred and Huckabee, however. (Basically, I voted for the Conservatives on the delegate list. Odd that none of them were on McCain’s or Romney’s list.)

I've been googling, and keep running into language like this...

Qualified political parties are entitled to have candidates identified with that political party standing for partisan offices on the ballot. In order for a party to have such identified candidates, that party must have already qualified to participate in either of the two primary elections scheduled for 2008 or, if not qualified, must have completed all the qualification requirements by the 135 th day before the February 5, 2008 (Presidential Primary Election) or the June 3, 2008 (Statewide Direct Primary Election).

The dates are bit different, or how they calculate them, but the gist is about the same.

Awright, I started drinking beer on the drinking thread that Bob J posted a few hours ago, but let me just see if I can make this clear to you, and to anyone else on this forum who thinks a vote for one candidate in the primaries is a vote for a candidate that particular poster does not like -

We all have the right to vote for the candidate we choose.

How? Huckabee won here. McCain came in a close second. Since Romney and McCain are not on my “I will hold my nose and vote for them” list, I did the best with what I had to work with.

I walked into the polling place with every intention of voting for Romney to try to stop McCain. But when I marked my ballot, I wound up voting for Thompson.

I was one of only 3,095 Missouri voters who voted for Fred. Even if all of the voters in Missouri who voted for a candidate outside of the “Big 3” had voted for Romney instead, it would not have been enough to have made a difference for him. So my vote didn’t help or hurt McCain, Mitt or Huck.

It had been a long time since I had voted my convictions instead of voting against (or settling for) someone I didn’t believe in. And it felt good. At least I’ll sleep well tonight.

That’s what bothers me. People here hate Mike Huckabee so much that they would rather have Hillary or Obama in office for the next 8 years. To me, it’s another choice....the choice is Huckabee or McCain, then what? McCain is a loser I think.........just vote to bury yourself, vote for McCain guys.

Lots of people in our little minority are thinking the same.

The global regime will continue, and Hillary will make our prevailing leaders (importing, off-shoring constituents) behind their politicians happy. Social engineering services will also continue to keep the labor pool large (cheap) and the potential domestic competition down.

The Middle East is what will bite them. Imagine the army that Hillary will draft. LOL! ...big numbers with no morale or fight.

BUT John McCain is not going to be allowed to bury my country without a fight from me. SOOOOOOOOO, will it be Obama or Huckabee? Like Obama better? fine then, RIP
Because Huckabee is the only one that has anywhere close to the charisma of Obama on our side. Think about it.
And Romney is the Ken doll, where is the charisma of Ken unless you are Barbie?
