Better a token woman than a token black. It comes across as less (slightly less) patronizing.
To: devane617
As long as we have a loser running for president we might as well get rid of her also.

The only way the Republicans can win is with a minority (hispanic/black/woman) on the ticket as a VP. We have to neutralize the woman vote.

How will she be VP? She will have to run with a Hillary or Obama because there is no way this country will elect somebody as old and mean as John McCain.

America has contempt for congress, what else would you call it when approval ratings are 20 points below an “unpopular” President. If two parties run four sitting senators, then a a third pary will not win, but whoever wins will again be denied a majority of popular vote. The Senate is a snakepit of treachery, there is no other way to characterize. And McCain and Kennedy are the head serpents.
To: devane617
Great.
The transformation is complete.
We’re a lunatic, anti-ANWR, pro-Global Warming, pro-amnesty party.
And McQueeg picks a running mate from a deeply red state.
Hurrah.

Somebody please talk me off the ledge today. The Giants victory in the superbowl only goes too far. If there are two amnesty candidates running, the U.S. is finished inside of 15 years. I feel bad for our service men and women who are protecting our freedom, because we’re going to destroy it internally within a generation. So please tell me why I should vote for McCain. Somebody give me a plausible reason. If you say war on terror, I say Al-Qeada and the Islamic terrorist are probably tired of having their asses handed to them by our military. They’ll probably retreat, regroup and wait till we destroy ourselves. In 15 years the world will be there’s because we won’t have the resources necessary to fund our military. Much of our money will be going to the 30 million welfare recipients that McCain will pardon and make citizens. And I’m sure this will lead to 30 million more illegals from all corners of the globe to come to the great welfare state. So please someone give me a good reason to vote for McCain, a man that is so vindictive that he’ll sign the fairness doctrine in blood. Yours and mine.

Steve Forbes stated a few minutes ago
I bet that prognostication isn’t any better than his one in 1999/2000 that he would be the next President of the USA. Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison may become the VP nominee but I’d think it’s many too early to make that assumption yet.

As a Fredhead highly disappointed that McCain (a few months ago a 7% bottom of the list candidate) is going to be the nominee, I have to ask myself what can McCain do to sweeten the deal? What could he do to get the Fredheads and the Romney supporters to get out and vote for him in November? It would have to be a brilliant VP choice, and I mean brilliant.
Who on the ticket would FIRE UP Conservatives? Who on the ticket would generate discussion for weeks?
