Obviously, the Republican Partys primaries are being flooded by people who are either A) not usual primary voters and/or B) are actually not even registered Republicans. Tuesdays GOP primaries said it again, just 75% were Republicans.
I voted Romney, Christie Whitman wing poised to get their man the nomination.
We can withdraw and let the worst happen, or we can vote [to protect] our nation [from] even more harm. In 1992 some stayed home voted Perot.[thinking] .. four years of Clinton America .. crawling back to conservatism very wrong. .. eight years Clinton and a military almost powerless to defend us. Staying home or voting Democrat is not the answer.
{Disappointing] George Bush . tax cuts strong military . The worst rino is always better than the best rat, any day.
Fully 17% Democrats .. vote to stop her. Independents who dont want Clinton ... these factors off set the number of conservatives who stay home.
large portion of rank and file Democrats will not vote for either The woman or a Black man. Dont you know many Democrats you could hear saying, I wont vote for a woman or a Black man? or say it in courser words? I can say this, knowing it is true because I dont make my living in the public eye. I dont have to be concerned about telling the truth. The truth is the truth.
..between a Black Muslim socialist (WILL be seen) or a White female socialist versus a White War hero socialist, America will vote for John McCain. , our job to keep his feet to the fire. We must work to elect conservatives to the Congress to balance the socialist who is very likely to win. America needs us to do this. We can not stay home.

While George Bush has been very disappointing would you have preferred Al Gore as Commander in Chief on Sept. 11th? We got tax cuts and a strong military from Bush. We would have gotten taxes and appeasement from Gore
6The Tom Bradley effect indicates Barack Obama will be finished the day after he gets their nod. Nevertheless, he wont be their nominee because of the structural edge Clinton has in super delegates.

I will not vote for someone who continues to show contempt for conservatives and conservatism. If McCain chooses to show some repentance for his past actions, I may reconsider. But until then, no way.
I don’t believe this. Dems are not going to protest when she pulls out her stuff to use on McCain.
My suggestion to everyone is to wait until McCain wins and decides who his VP will be before making a decision on how you are going to vote in November. If McCain picks a conservative VP, that is about the best you can hope for anyway in this election cycle. McCain is the only GOP candidate who stands a good chance of beating the Dems, and if he picks a conservative VP, that will increase the likelihood of a conservative President at some point.
We have no effect on the guy when he should be kissing our butts. What leverage would we have on the guy when he's a one term President?
And just exactly how are conservatives supposed to do that, hmmmmmm? Once McCain is inaugurated as POTUS, he'll say he has a "mandate" to govern like he ran - LIBERAL! Liberal on Kyoto, Liberal on immigration, Liberal on education, Liberal on free speech issues, Liberal on SCOTUS appointments ----- LIBERAL! He will likely have McGrahamnesty as his AG, Huckabee as head of his HHS, LIEberman as HHS chief, UGH!
Birds of a feather..
sw
Should say, LIEberman as his DHS chief...
I need another cup of coffee!
You’re probably right, but I’m not jumping to conclusions. If he wants conservatives to vote for him, he’ll reach out to them. If not, then he’ll go down in flames. When he names his VP, we’ll know which way he chose to go.
And Liberal McCain will be the head of the Republican party. how will we explain that? What exactly will McCain do that’s conservative, that’s Republican?
Some tickets with McCrazy at the top that *might* make me think about not voting Constitution Party this November:
McCrazy-Coburn
McCrazy-Gingrich
McCrazy-Thompson
McCrazy-Santorum (although I think Santorum would refuse an offer under most any circumstances)
McCrazy-Hunter (same principled refusal likely)
That’s about it. I think in the end it would be better to have Hillary or Barack Hussein wreck the country for four years and ensure a truely conservative victory in 2010/2012 to rescue the country. Hunter-Gingrich or Allen-Santorum 2012! And a new class of 1994 for the 2010 congressional elections ideally with candidates like Erik Prince, General Pace, General Petraeus and other solidly conservative Warriors.
I won’t vote for a proven open borders traitor like Shamnesty McCain no matter what promises he makes.
A man who betrays his country will have no problem making promises he does not intend to keep.
A McCain/Thompson ticket would help bring conservatives back to the GOP.
Sorry. This time around I just can’t vote for McCain.
I have given it thought and really just can’t do it.
I will vote down ticket, but McCain? No this time. I was one of the people who showed up for Dole, at least he was a nice man and thats really the reason I voted for him.
He did reach out to us. He told us to “Calm down”. /s
Condescending liberal ba$tard that he is!
Another day of you will vote for McCain are I will hate you. Please!!!
Hear hear!
McCain is not the nomineee.....
I for one do not want to hear these “guilt trip” messages... filled with fear.
A vote is far more than just to get someone to win...
To me it is...it means you support what the person stands for ..
The possibility of McCain picking a good solid conservative VP is the only thing keeping many conservatives sane right about now.
Considering the fact that McCain is long of tooth, and might implode from the intense pressure of governing, his VP selection will be much more important than usual.
Remember, McCain has NEVER been in charge of anything.
He has been an ego-driven US Senator, which by definition is someone who THINKS they know it all, and feels the need to constantly criticize.
He has NEVER been executive anything... much less leader of America and the Free World.
People underestimate the difference between "looking in" from the outside and being responsible for making decisions that affect millions of lives.
A man who betrays his country will have no problem making promises he does not intend to keep.
BTTT
It wouldn't do a thing for me unless McCain was at the bottom of the ticket.
It would also lead me to believe that Fred entered the race to help McCain peel off votes from others.
Wrong title, should be “If McCain is YOUR nominee”.
I am a Conservative first and a Republican adistant second. If the best that the two “major” parties can find to be President are McClintobamney, then they have failed Conservatives. Time to move on. A pox on both their houses.
Tammy Bruce was on Fox News just a few minutes ago talking about conservative Republicans who mean to support Obama, if the Republican nominee is McCain.
The idea seems to be recasting Obama as a consensus builder. He’ll take conservative values into account.
Insane.
Insane.
Insane.
At this point in our political life, there is no national Democrat who deserves any Conservative’s support.
The Democratic Party is the party of retreat and surrender. IMHO, any conservative who takes out his/her anger and resentment toward McCain, however justified, to defeat our chances for a Republican Presidential victory is supporting that retreat and surrender.
I am over this “Fall in line and do what you are told” BS that we are being fed. I am a conservative first and a republican second. I will LEAVE the republican party if I feel that they are not moving in the right direction. If McCain get the nomination I will leave the republican party and register indy. I will continue to vote my values and I if needs be I will vote for MICKY MOUSE before I vote for McCain or a Democrat.
The only possibility here (and it is a slim one). I don't see any of the rest even considering the post. However, he will pick a N/NE RINO as his running mate (and it won't be a sitting Senator). I don't think he wants another Southern/Southeastern candidate. He needs the North/NE vote to even think about winning a general election.
Santorum is about the only one on that list I’d go for. Maybe Coburn. I’d also take Romney, but the grudge-holding chip-on-the-shoulder McCain seems to have made up his mind on that.
The problem with Thompson is that a conservative VP is only useful if he might be President someday. McCain is old, and won’t likely be a candidate in 2012, even if he does serve out a full term. Thompson is younger, but not much, and he has his own health problems. He also did not wow me in this campaign with his energy, and I would not expect him to improve on that in 2012, if he got that far. I would expect him to be the kind of VP that Cheney is: an advisor, but not an heir. I think we need a young ambitious, and energetic nominee. That’s why I like Romney. Also because McCain is going to need a lot of money, and Romney’s got it.
Gingrich would most likely be a liability than an asset. Whoever is appointed has got to at least be neutral with respect to McCain’s liberal/moderate base. That ain’t Gingrich.
McCain could show that he’s “like Reagan” by picking Romney. Reagan picked Bush after a bruising primary battle in 1980. Personally, though, I don’t expect it because McCain is not like Reagan.
The worst Rino is better than the best rat any day.
This would only be correct if the worst Rino was a stable person. I feel McCain is so filled with hate and rage that he might do anything once he has power and no longer has to be nice.
He praised men like Kennedy, Lieberman, and Feingold while he makes nasty remarks about the conservative Republican senators.
If Hillary gets the nomination - I will not vote for the presidential candidate. If Obama gets the nomination I will vote for him.
I will actively work for every conservative Republican candidate and give money directly to their campaigns. I will not give money to the Republican party as a whole.
I would rather have 4 years with a liberal democratic President and a conservative congress and senate than I would have a liberal Republican President that will enact god knows what in order to be loved by the Democrats.
No a McCain-Thompson would not bring back the conservatives, no one votes for the VP. VP is the most useless job in the world, besides why would McCain listen to Thompson? No reason too.
I work with many Democrats and independents. They are all in shock that we have selected McCain, and happy about it, and view him as the easiest to beat. The hard core Democrats are celebrating that Romney is out of it.
The non political independents, they look at McCain and laugh. Im dead serious. They laugh! They cant imagine voting for a 72 year old man who looks and sounds like McCain, to take on the toughest and most difficult job in the world. They dont take him serious. He is off the table for the Independents and moderates.
The few republicans in my office are seriously concerned that McCain is mentally unfit for the job, and in fact lean towards not voting because of the concern.
I still have not met one person who is excited that McCain could be president, and eager to vote for him. Not a single one. From where I sit, it looks like a train wreck after McCain gets the nomination. Much worse than Clinton - Dole.
I doubt it’s an if...
"Bipartisanship" Is A Dirty Word; and RUSH: "We want to defeat them"
Cut it out, we had that crap used on us when Rudy was at the top. Besides, McCain doesn’t need us, he has all those independents and DEMs out there that will make up for the people that wouldn’t be used and abused.
Then the answer must be to kill the RINOs. Then Thompson and Hunter can rejoin the race, and we can have actual conservatives to vote for.
I’m not sure that’s right. The reason McCain is rising from the dead is that a large number of Dems can’t accept either Hillary or Obama, and they are voting with their feet for McCain. It was interesting to see what happened when Edwards dropped out. His support was largely white males. Without Edwards, the white males had to choose between Obama and Hillary. They went for Obama, it appears. But that’s because they were registered as Dems, and could not vote for McCain. I would guess that some of these upcoming primaries are not yet closed. It will be interesting to see how many of the white males still remaining in the Dem Party switch parties and vote for McCain. Look at Obama’s support in the upcoming primaries to see if it suffers. That will be your first clue that the Dems are in trouble if they have to go up against McCain.
McCain’s problem is that he’s got to get the conservatives on board, and so far, he doesn’t seem particularly interested in doing that.
No. Absolutely not. I will not cut it out.
Vote Democrat. You vote for their agenda. That agenda includes retreat and surrender.
what do you mean IF? there are only 400 or so delegates in play, even if Mitt gets them all Mccain still wins.
I am not voting Democrat. You are.
I am writing in a candidate and voting down ticket.
I will not vote for McCain, nor will I be bullied into it.
“It would also lead me to believe that Fred entered the race to help McCain peel off votes from others.”
Veeps are chosen after the Nominee is decided. There would be no “others”. Besides would you rather have Huckster or another RINO as veep? At least with Fred you would have a chance at President Fred if McLame’s health went south. It also makes Fred the front runner for the 2016 election.
no the best we can hope for is Hillary only doing half of what she says. we should have a republican congress and a real conservative running in 2012. I think if we vote for mccain too many of you will just go along because he is your guy and not hillary.
you honestly think Santorum would turn down a VP slot?? It’s a paying gig!
“No a McCain-Thompson would not bring back the conservatives, no one votes for the VP. VP is the most useless job in the world, besides why would McCain listen to Thompson? No reason too.”
See post #40.
I agree.
I really don’t think McCain can win (The General) either.
The last few elections have been squeekers. Those were with know names, and lackluster Democrats.
Now, we have blah-blah names on the Rep side and more fire than you can shake a caveman at on the Dem side.
This will be a landslide for the dem ticket **Regardless** of their nominee.
If McCain is the Rep choice to run against Hill or Obam, I have some lingering thoughts that he may loose it during one of the debates with them. If Hill or Obam know how to push his buttons....
Haha! Do you really think Fred could run in 2016?
He really would be a little old, not to mention he wasn’t all that into it this time.
Face reality, please? We aren’t voting for VP.
well the rats seem to think Chaney is important. Anyway this another reason W failed, he shouldve picked a younger/better health conservative as vp in 04 I dont think we would be worring about having to vote for MCCAIN.
???????????
I am writing in a candidate and voting down ticket.
I learned a long time ago not to spit into the wind. The mess comes back on ya. You do what you want, though.
I will not vote for McCain, nor will I be bullied into it.
Wael, good for you.
I already told you what I think the result will be. Hope the future proves me wrong.
I doubt it will.
“well the rats seem to think Chaney is important. Anyway this another reason W failed, he shouldve picked a younger/better health conservative as vp in 04 I dont think we would be worring about having to vote for MCCAIN.”
Agreed. Both Bushes are responsible for the fix were in now. Both abandoned conservatism which is a proven winner. W should have been grooming a successor for this election. Many of us wanted him to replace Cheney with Rice. He also is the head of the party and should be keeping the mavericks in check. W’s GOP is like Animal House.
McCain/Thompson is now the best conservatives can hope for.
yeah I guess Rice as vp wouldve been fine, we wouldnt see her as a sec of state, which I think she is a failure at.
“If Obama gets the nomination I will vote for him.”
Pledging allegiance to the flag is basic for an ordinary citizen. How can you vote for Obama, who hates our flag and what it stands for, for President of the United States?
