That’s it. It’ll be McCain/Huckabee or /Graham or /Woman. Sorry Mitt. See you in four years... unless a conservative emerges from the rubble.

I hope he works on his message. I like his economic background and hope he runs again in 4 years. That being said, I’m disappointed that the GOP will no longer be able to provide me with a candidate I am willing to vote for. Don’t get me wrong, I will not vote for the Democrat candidate, but John McCain will not get my vote either.

Conservatives care about the United States so much ...
that they're willing to DEFEAT McCain to save the nation!!!

McCain needs to wake up and smell the "VILE"!!!

So now we will get a McCain-Huckabee ticket and George Soros will own both parties instead of only one.

Of course, now McCain may have no further use for Huckabee and will kick him to the curb. And be free to pi** on the conservative base with his former gusto.

A small price to pay for keeping Mormons in their place, isn't it?

>>The corpse finally realizes it’s dead.<<

I was not a Huckabee supporter.

But I don’t understand pulling out now.

Sometimes things happen to the front runner - they do something stupid or something comes out about them.

And when that happens the guy who is #2 in delegates an #1 in money would usually be the nominee. If nothing else he could be a force at the convention.

Back to the one-party system.

They call it "post-partisan" now. The soccer moms are more comfortable with it when you give it a happy-sounding name.

If true, that would be a shame. Maybe the RNC made some kind of deal with him - a VP slot?

I can't see McPain putting Huckabee on the ticket. Then again, I can't see Mitt Romney accepting such a deal.

"For a businessman, it sure took him a long time to digest the numbers..."

Well, he had to go through Super Tues and wait for exactly how all the California delegates fell yesterday, etc. Then it was likely "wait and see" if Huck would possibly drop, so some soul searching, etc.

Guess I'll be voting 3rd party this year for the 1st time in a looooonnnnggggg time.

IF TRUE- Mitt released the impossibility running a race where you have to run against one guy for President and the other for Vice President.

Mitt should throw his delegate to McCain to thwart Huck’s back door attempt at VP!!

It was already clear that he could only win the nomination if McCain dropped out of the race.

It would be nice, given the possibility that McCain could keel over at any time, if he was around.

But on the other hand, it might also be nice to put to bed the “Huckabee would win if Romney just dropped out” discussion once and for all.

Huckabee should have dropped out, Romney is much closer to McCain and if Huckabee really cared about conservative values, he’d see that stopping McCain was the most important thing.

But now Romney, who previously backed off in South Carolina giving Fred Thompson a chance, now appears to be backing off to give Huckabee a chance, even though Huckabee has no chance at all.
