Sam Zell's LA Times will take ads from gun manufacturers, strip clubs, and casinos.

The comment about some of his best friends going to gentlemen’s clubs was separate from the above line. That came earlier in the talk, when saying that when he learned of the ban on running ads from the clubs, he was stunned because “some of my best friends go to gentlemen’s clubs.” The un-American comment came later, in reference to advertising guns, to which he said hunting is American … and somehow made the leap to the above comment.

He believes that the Times needs to go after advertising from gun manufacturers and the Indian casinos.

. . .

At a recent dinner party, the mention of Hillary Clinton’s name prompted him to use a four-letter obscenity to describe her.

Tribune Company long ago caved in to the (Brady?) campaign to have newspapers stop accepting advertising for firearms.

Looks like this is changing under Sam Zell's leadership?

Funny how FINANCIAL REALITY always has a way of intruding into leftist/Democrat idealism, isn’t it?

Can’t wait until Zell hires Ann Coulter to run the Times’ editorial page.

Hillary Clinton’s name prompted him to use a four-letter obscenity to describe her. Were the first two letters "c" and "u"?

Wow!

He sounds darn near normal.

He may actually save the jobs of some of these anti-business, anti-US, liberal wussies.

The irony of it!

Zell’s going to have some issues in LA. His comment, “It’s unAmerican not to like p#$$y,” isn’t going to play well in the homosexual haven of Hollywood.

He’s questioning their patriotism. How dare he!!!!

Ya gotta love Sam Zell. He made a fortune going against conventional wisdom and always telling the “experts” to go scratch themselves. It’ll be interesting to see if the editorial page of the Chicago “Lib”une goes to the right. Maybe Chicago, and Illinois, politics will change for the better.

He is a refreshingly different sort of billionaire. In a recent interview in the WSJ he gave a very clear, concise definition of the mortgage meltdown issue, declaring that while we currently had record high home ownership at 68-69% of the population owning their homes - maybe only 67% should. He’s one smart fellow who doesn’t mind being the skunk at the picnic. I’m glad he got into media.

"The last comment was after the reporter folded her arms and turned her back to him."

Maybe they will quite before he has to fire them? We can only hope.
