Yeah, me, too. Cynicism is running rampant. I'm not even disappointed in Fred endorsing McCain. What was he supposed to do? Hold on to the delegates until the convention?
Jesus...what’s the big deal? Everyone knew he was going to endorse him. THEY’RE CLOSE PERSONAL FRIENDS!
Geeze. If I had a close friend running for president and he secured my party’s nomination, I’d endorse him too. Why on earth wouldn’t he?

Former conservative Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson endorsed John McCain. So did conservative Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn. Tom wants to be his VP? Come on.

By all means, keep the sniping going all the way to the election. Cutting our own throats, that’s the best way to increase conservative power. Even better, maybe we should vote for the other side. It’s a gamble, but why not? It’s the best chance we’ve got...
This weekend, I remove his bumper sticker from my car and try to forget I ever said anything positive about him to other people. And I settle in for the Hillary and/or Obama presidency.
This is not a surprise and as a Fred supporter who despises McCain I don’t feel it’s a betrayal of any kind either. Mitt’s out and McCain will win the nomination barring some unforseen accident. Fred is just facing reality and acting accordingly.
Fred is a man of principle. He would not sell out to gain a VP slot. He is just recognizing reality as he sees it. I will vote for McCain reluctantly. He will much better than either of the rats. I hope that he chooses a strong conservative as a VP. If McCain is elected, I will fight against his attempts to grant amnesty just like I fought Bush’s attempts.
I think people need to keep things in perceptive. I endorsed Fred and I think that whatever role he plays in a McCain administration, would be reassuring.
I supported Fred and Fred could not win, therefore it’s time to put personal feelings behind me and do what’s right for the country and support McCain. I am going to be a better person that McCain could not be in 2001 after he lost to Bush.

No, but Thompson meant a lot to me. I spent a lot of time and money promoting him and this is just a disappointment. That’s all.
OTOH, I know what I know what I know....as they say. I agree in principle that McLame is better than the cheese eating surrender monkeys that have become the Democrats. And in my liberal days (I once was a diehard lib), I would've thought Hillary and Obama were AWESOME.
I do not want to work hard for McLame's election, but if he were to lose by only one vote in my state, and that vote were mine, and we got a U.S. President Obama or Hitlery, and we began to see what I fear would be a push for COMPLETE socialism, our republic would be doomed.
One of my biggest fears is the resignation, on January 22, 2009, of John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. You know those two old liberals are clinging on long enough to get a like-minded Soviet in the White House. With Hitlery or Hussein, they'll get it: and our chance at ALL to change the SCOTUS will be slowed for possibly another generation.
I even fear the Democrat Congress might try to increase the membership of the Supreme Court (they can do that, you know!) just to thwart the growing conservative wing of the justices.
I REALIZE having a President McLame will bring the danger of a liberal judge, too. But with a Democrat, we are guaranteed a liberal justice.
Ugh.
I might have to go pull the lever for McInsane, based on the SCOTUS.
