An 8-year-old boy is preparing to return to his home school district in Colorado as a girl, so school officials are designating two school restrooms as unisex facilities, and preparing to counsel other students on the issue of transgenderism.
The report comes from KUSA-Television in Denver, which did not identify the third-grade student or his family in the Castle Rock suburban district.
But the report said the student had attended his home district several years ago, as a boy, and then had taken classes in another district for a time.
One parent, identified by the television station as Dave M., said children in the elementary school are going to wonder what's going on.
"I see this as being a very difficult situation to explain to my daughter, to explain why someone would not want to be the gender they were born with," he told the station.
His daughter will share a classroom with the boy dressing as a girl.

I find it interesting they are planning on providing mental health professionals for all the kids except the one that seems to really need one. It’s like screwing in a light bulb by turning the house. Um, hellooooo people. The child is a boy. Being mentally confused about that fact doesn’t make it less true.
The story does not really tell what is going on. Or maybe I didn’t read it carefully enough.
Was this really a case of gender identity or was the kid born with both sex organs?
There may be more to this.

Actually, a person is born with a “sex”. Until fairly recently, it was considered humourous, or a sign of gross ignorance to confuse sex and gender. Gender (as a substitute for sex) is based on the notion that sexual (gender) identity is culturally and socially derived — not a matter of biology. Whenever you use “gender”, while meaning “sex”; you’re falling into the trap set by those of an Orwellian bent, who believe that the way to change reality is to change the language first. (Their devious strategy seems to be working.)

BTW, there are only two “sexes” — but, there are (supposedly) numerous “genders”.

Sometimes “mistakes” are made. No doubt few parents are ever prepared to deal with them all that well. I would imagine more than once the parents have lied about their kid ~ even told outrageous whoppers ~
This is cruel. No kid would have thought of having his sex organs cut off and fake organs shaped through plastic surgery. Obviously his parents, the school, and the highly-paid therapists told him that he was really a girl with a boy’s sex organs and that the only way to be happy would be to cut them off.
We continue down this slope, faster and faster, at the expense of our future, and our society’s future, our children. We are subjecting them to social experiments, at their expense, and our own as a society.
It’s only a matter of time before some parents demand their children be taught in Klingon.

The Parents are the problem here. They should be taken out and horsewhipped before this kid ruins his life. Kids this young do not have a clue. There are no such things as “Gender Identitiess apart from one’s own gender identity anyway.
This can be vastly more complex than your post suggests. In my psychology studies I learned that there are cases of physically expressed males with female chromosomes and vice versa. This could be addressed by a surgical change. I can’t imagine any surgeon making a change for a psychological reason at the age of eight before real gender identity is established.
In other words there could be a laboratory determined biological basis that justified making a sex change. If that is true, the following steps of reintroducing the child to his social environment should have been made very privately.

I agree with you. I don’t know much about this stuff and I certainly don’t pretend to be an expert, but maybe there was an issue about the sex organs on this poor kid.

If he's not actualy gender dysphoric, they're perverts and the child should be removed from the household.
But that being said, it doesn't matter what he LOOKS like, he IS a boy, and nothing will change that. He will never menstruate, give birth, go through menopause, all the things that women can potentially do. (Yes, I know, not ALL women do ALL those things, but we are all born with the potential.)
When you fail to ping, therefore, you are making it far more difficult for others to participate in the discussion ( even if they already have knowledge of the topic from another post). I know that you are very far minded government school defender, and would never be intentionally not pinging members merely as a ploy to suppress discussion.

I was thinking exactly along the same lines as you. If that were the case, one would think they might have mentioned that in the article. Sometimes I see so much of this nonsense, I wonder when it is exactly that schools get about the business of teachers, teaching and students, learning. If this child is 8 years old and there were no anatomical ambiguities; This is state-sponsored child abuse and PC taken to the point of absurdity.
I wonder if the kid saw the social bonding of girls with mothers and wanted his mother to love him like that; or perhaps the mother wanted a girl and treats him coldly, so his solution is to become the girl his mother wanted. Perhaps the child wanted the caring concern most adults direct to girls while boys are ignored or that boys can only do wrong.
IMO, this is more likely a result of the war on boys that a transgender case.

How will this solve the problem? If the boy feels he is a girl then he will feel discriminated by be shoved into a “uni-sex” bathroom.
By the way,,, All YMCA’s should have some unisex facilities. My husband took my daughter ( who had just turned 3) to the Y for a swim. In the men’s locker room after the swim, she proceeded to say over and over, “That man has a p*nis! That man has p*nis!” ( Using,of course, that high pitched and peircing voice typical of toddlers.)
Precisely! Eight years old? I'm sorry, but this is a despicable thing to do to a child.
Throughout history there have been a very few people who were born with the sex organs of both sexes. And, naturally, it was the parents who decided how (which gender) their child would be known as. As sad and as difficult this would have been to the child/person, as well as difficult for the parents and siblings, they did manage to get through it. Privately, with discretion and dignity.
Example, in doing some genealogy research on my family line, I came across a family unit, which lived about 3 generations back, in which one of the children was indicated as being female in an early census; there are old tin-type photos showing the person dressed as a girl, and also a photo of the person dressed as a young woman, but then in later census records that same person starting using a man’s name and indicated he was living in a household, he being the husband, with a wife and a child. We did find a reference in private family correspondence that this person had been born with the sex organs of both sexes. This was of course before medical advancements provided a ways to change/correct anatomical features.
Situations like this were kept secret in past generations. And perhaps that gave the impression that it was shameful. But in today’s society, people seem to think that in order to remove the “shameful” aspect of what is a sad and tragic accident of nature – we should go to the other extreme. As in this instance today in Colorado, where this child’s plight is being published in the newspaper, discussed on the Internet, the school forced to provide a private restroom.
Maybe some think this is progress, but to my way of thinking, this accomplishes more shame, strife, division, finger-pointing. My heart goes out to the child who is having to be exposed by all of this publicity. And of course, it is the parents who are ultimately responsible for protecting the child.
Who can say which is best? To protect the child from negative attention or publicize it and get over it so that the child accepts his/her predicament at an early age.
Why would you allow a 3 year old to see naked men? I never put my daughter in a position of having to enter a mens dressing room or bathroom.
Put this freak and its parents out of their misery.
Boys are in the women’s restrooms and dressing rooms ( up to the age of 5 or so). That is somehow different?
Hold up a second. This is absurd, it is child abuse and this child bears no responsibility for this. I am not quite sure what the situation is with this child anatomically or psychologically but the responsibility lies with the parent. If this is a boy dressing as a girl then I suspect abusive influences are at work here. It is not the fault of the child.
It’s everyone in the world who is “pro-political correctness” who is beyond idiots, because liberalism is a mental disorder!

A three year old has no need to see naked men in public. If this had been a bathroom emergency, your husband should have put his hand over her eyes and taken her to the potty. I can’t even imagine taking a child into a men’s locker room.
