LEWISTON, Me. — Hillary Clinton isn’t pulling her punches today, and she’s ripped.
Clinton doesn’t think a temporary suspension fits the crime by MSNBC’s David Shuster, who commented this week that the Clinton campaign had “pimped out” 27-year old Chelsea Clinton by having her try to recruit Democratic Party super delegates to support her mother.
Sen. Clinton’s letter to Steve Capus, president of NBC News, pretty much says it all:
Dear Mr. Capus,
Thank you for your call yesterday. I wanted to send you this note to convey the depth of my feeling about David Shuster’s comments.
I know that I am a public figure and that my daughter is playing a public role in my campaign. I am accustomed to criticism, certainly from MSNBC. I know that it goes with the territory.
However, I became Chelsea’s mother long before I ran for any office and I will always be a mom first and a public official second.
Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used and no temporary suspension or half-hearted apology is sufficient.
I would urge you to look at the pattern of behavior on your network that seems to repeatedly lead to this sort of degrading language.
There’s a lot at stake for our country in this election. Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.

That is exactly right. Obama may be leftist, but it’s the Clintons who use the power of the government to persecute enemies. If they are back in power, conservative groups can expect IRS audits and other government bully tactics to be used against them as a matter of course. And not just conservative groups, but anyone who dares criticize.
As long as she uses her daughter as a Prop for her phony family, Chelsea is fair game. Schuster needs to apologize to Prostitutes for soiling their name.

The obvious solution to the problems involved with trying to avoid offending or enraging Hillary Clinton with comments about her, her campaign, or her family, is to NOT report on anything concerning her, her campaign, or her family.
That’s right, a complete news blackout.
We know you have the power and the determination to do this, because it’s what you all did to Duncan Hunter.

LOL! She’s gonna milk this for all it’s worth. I have no love for Shuster, and I would agree that his language was crude for a mainstream national newscast. But she’s now going the full Don Imus/Rurgers route to (surprise!) ratchet up the women’s vote. Who can’t empathize with a woman whose daughter was insulted?
Meanwhile, she continues to live with a man who shamed Chelsea a hell of a lot more than Shuster did. He also shamed in a very physical way the daughters of other parents. Why doesn’t she “fire” Bill?
Yes she will and the message will be received by all who might be so bold as to confront the Clintons, if even in jest. Do so at your own peril.

Shouldn’t someone do a collection of times the MSM have called people pimps and nobody noticed? Like when they said that Bush was pimping for Petraeus? Or the time recently when they said that Romney was doing a pimp walk?
Those are just two, but I’ll bet there are many more.

I’m not a fan of Imus, but who can doubt that he was fired because hillary wanted him out of the way for the election campaign, since he was one of the few people on TV who had ever dared criticize the clintons and lived to tell about it?

This letter is very telling in just how much Hillary is in control of things. Chelsea is old enough to come to her own defense. She shouldn’t have to have her mother step in and demand an apology or discipline for anyone. If Chelsea was offended, it was up to her to write the letter...not her Mama. It’s like the incident with the restaurant owner, who had a picture of Chelsea (along with other well-known people), in the window. One of Clinton’s lawyers wrote a threatening letter to the owner, telling him to remove the photo Chelsea had actually posed for on one of the occasions she had eaten in the restaurant. Chelsea didn’t write the letter, and I believe it was sent on stationery from Bill Clinton’s New York City office.
