..I haven’t supported Huck because of his record—but kudos to him for keeping McCain from the nomination—at least for awhile...

It’s not in the bag for McCain

Yes it is... Huckaby could (and very well may) WIN ALL of the remaining states and still not beat McCain... because almost all of the rest are "proportional"... So, Mac Daddy will get his 25-30%, and... that's all he needs from here on out.

What a sad, sad situation we have here.....

I wonder what happens to Romney’s delegates?

I really fail to understand the depth of vitriol against Huckabee.

He is a Christian which means stupid to many. He was governor for 10 years in Democratic state thus some compromise. He is southern which equals stupid for many.

Had Romney stayed in the race this would have been a lot tougher for McCain.

I just don't see it this way.... Most of the remaining states award delegates based on proportional votes. So, if Romney stays in... Romney and Huck just continue to split votes.

The BEST Romney could have hoped for was a 1st place finish, that didn't have the number required to win.... then, lose the nomination to Mack or Huck in a repeat of the West Virginia caucus.

Now... McCain could LOSE every remaining state, and still win. He's THAT far ahead.

If Huck had dropped out, leaving Romney and Mac in a H2H, THEN Romney had a chance... but, Huck wasn't going to do that.

This process is completely FUBAR.

Huckabee will never win Utah. He received only about 1% of the primary votes in the Republican primary and there is a lot of resentment in the state because of his nasty attacks on Romney. His campaign as the “Christian” candidate doesn’t help him either.

Yes... it’s sad... But, all McCain has to do now is win ~15-20% of the vote in each state....

It would have been harder for Mac had Huckaby dropped out... but, that wasn’t gonna happen.

Is Kansas a winner take all delegates state? What about LA and Wash?

McCain has the Liberal & RINO vote. The Huck's success ought to tell McCain something. But, in his hubris, I doubt that it will. Even if it does, the message won't last. When it comes to principles, McCain has a short memory.

I can’t stand Huck, but if he can puke on McCain and let him know lots of folks on the right hate his guts—then its a good thing—Go Huck Go! Show McCain some payback for his leftist leanings—and his shamnasty.

He's staying in the race.

He's expecting a miracle.

Seriously.

What I find amusing is that the Huckster wouldn’t lay a glove on McCain when he had the chance. Mitt Romney was enemy #1. Now the Huckster needs Romney’s supporters to keep his VP chances alive. He’s obviously picking up some of them, but others are giving him the finger. McCain doesn’t need Huckabee anymore. But Huckabee could probably pick up more delegates if he changed his name to “Not John McCain.”

I live in Texas; Perry’s a disaster and not to be trusted. I hope you’re right that Huckabee told him to get lost.

That sounds like a sure way to get a Hillary or Obama in the White House.
