Apparently, not too many conservatives are voting for anyone else so I don’t suppose it really matters what the McCain bashers think.

I'm no fan of his; but ...If he gets the nomination, people had better determine whether or not they want to cut off their noses to spite their faces.

I am one of the many conservatives who was angry that there wan;t anyone reflecting my values left in the GOP race. I did consider voting third party or sitting at home on election day. However, common sense started taking over after a few days.

There is too much at stake to waste my vote and others votes with this election. To sit out or vote third party will not send any kind of message that will help my children or myself.

The next president will make decisions regarding our national security and how we handle terrorists. The next president will likely have to nominate a few Supreme Court Justices. The next President will have to take on what is likely to be a Democrat super majority in Congress.

If those are things you wish the two biggest Washington D.C. LIBERALS, Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama, to preside over and rubber stamp, then continue to stay away. Think of what your children and grandchildren will have to live with in the future. They will have angry conservatives to thank for the mess they will inherit.

I'm not ecstatic over the choice I face, but I am now recognizing the alternatives and I refuse to damn my child to such a mess because I wanted to act like an angry child.

Wake up people. We may not like it, but we have to work together if we are going to make the conservative movement live on. and grow.

“Why many conservatives can’t vote for McCain”

I’ve never voted for the enemy.

I never will.

If I take the specifics cited literally, the real hatred of McCain seems to come from him not only being critical of conservatives at times, but from the nasty fact that he's right.

Pat Robertson is an agent of intolerance. I've read his books, or those he let go out under his name, and smearing masons as a grand satanic conspiracy controlling the world is definitely agent of intolerance stuff. It is also nuttier than fruitcake.

Waterboarding is torture. We shouldn't use it (and presently we don't).

It was entirely legit to attack Kerry over his VAW reckless allegations, but much less legit to smear his actual service in Nam, which was honorable enough.

Oh I see, Conservatives have to be told how to think now? The Conservatives haven't learned from 2006 yet? If some of you Conservatives think Huckabee can defeat Hillary OR Obama in November, I have ocean front property in New Mexico to sell you. My God, I can't believe the ignorance I am reading.

He is the most disloyal, ill-tempered man and he brings out the worse in all of us.

Couldn't have said it any better.

I will not retract this: anyone who votes for Obama, Hillory OR McCain, knowing anything about their record, is a traitor, is un-American, is a coward.

It is high time we start shaming people who do stupid things.

McCain weighed in by calling the Swift Boaters "dishonorable and dishonest."

I learn something new that I don't like about him daily.

This is the exact opposite of what happened when I started learning about Romney.

McLaim CANNOT win... republican voter turnout is poor democrat voter turnout is as good as its ever been..

Republicans voting for Mclaim are throwing their vote away.. Better to wite in "somebody".. at least the/that statement will be registered "somewhere"..

Democrats are USED to candidates being forced down their throats, its the democrat way.. republicans are not.. Republicans will revolt.. John Mclaim is indeed being forced down our throats.. NOT ALL will swallow..

So lets see ...

The choice is between someone who, if they are lying to you will screw you, versus someone who clearly says that they want to screw you.

Chance that we will get screwed on every turn by Hillary or Obama ... 100%

Chance that we will get screwed on every turn by McCain ... 20% ? 50%? 80%? 90%? - still better odds then letting a Dem get control of the White House.

The vote for Huck yesterday shows that my “Anyone But McCain” position has massive grassroots support.

Unfortunately Huck is no better (in fact he's probably worse). It's pathetic.

Hillary is about the only thing that can get me to vote for a Republican for the White House.

Does anyone else see that Huckabee and Romney are only conservative when compared to McCain? Those three are actually to the left of Hubert Humphrey. Even though the party luminaries are turning up the Bunsen Burner under the rank and file I am not moving another inch to the left.

Will somebody please explain to me why conservatives (Christians?) are so eager to get control of the Oval Office? After all, if it weren't for the USSC's scandalous, 10th A.-ignoring decisions concerning state power related cases, it's the states who have government power to address religious issues in this country, not the federal government. In fact, when Jefferson was asked to officially recognize the day of fasting and prayer when he was President, he actually "passed the buck" for such recognition to the states, reflecting on the 10th A. protected powers of the states to address religious issues as his reason for doing so. See for yourselves.
"I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from intermeddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises. This results not only from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment or free exercise of religion, but from that also which reserves to the states the powers not delegated to the United States. Certainly, no power to prescribe any religious exercise or to assume authority in religious discipline has been delegated to the General Government. It must then rest with the states, as far as it can be in any human authority." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Miller, 1808. http://tinyurl.com/nkdu7
Conservatives are evidently as detached from the intentions of the Founders concerning state government religious powers as liberals are. After all, the honest interpretations of the Founder's intentions reflected by the Constitution, as evidenced by Jefferson's writings, show that the Constitution reflects conservative values, not liberal values, or the lack thereof.

So sadly, given that conservatives are barking up the wrong tree (federal / state) in the name of reclaiming their freedoms, particularly their religious freedoms, they can be accused of not knowing the Constitution as much as Matthew 22:29 indicates that the Sadducees wasted their time arguing ideas based on their faulty knowledge of the Scriptures.

Just another supposed vet who’s in love with Psycho McCain, the most dangerous man ever to run for President...I think most conservatives are smart enough to disregard “robo calls”. I hang up on them. They’re as insulting coming from Psycho McCain as they are coming from Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein.

Good luck with your vet, vet. It’s third party time for a lot of us.
