Glad the thread is up. Wow - lots to talk about. Obama on the move, and Hillary in a panic.

By the way, did you hear that Obama and Hillary spoke to veterans recently?

God bless our older veterans. This old warrior had to have a listening device on his ear so that he could hear the speeches from the Democrats about how much they support our military.

FReeper "Jedi Council Chairman" Phsstpok asked me not to post a link to his Preview Thread as he has continued personal issues he's dealing with.

I will post a final link here so you can all read his explaination.

I will continue to pray for him and I ask you all do as well. I have had the extreme pleasure of meeting him in person several times and he is as intelligent, funny, and personable a man as any would like to meet.

Hmmm now he shows up on the Talk Show Circuit? Wonder why President Bush is out and about today?

I have run my race. In this election cycle, in regards to the presidency. I no longer have a candidate I can support in this election. I have been disenfranchised, largely by the dinosaur media, the elite insiders who serve them and who they serve in turn, and the sheeple who mindlessly follow them.

I feel the same way he does. Thompson, Hunter, and Tancredo out. They never really even had a chance.

For all the talk about the Conservative rebellion in the GOP, people are missing the brewing war in the Democrat Party.

What happens if Clinton Inc loses? Do they quietly fade into the night? Or do they go to court demanding the Democrats seat the delegations from Michigan and Florida, which Hillary won but the DNC stripped of their delegate for moving their primaries?

One would expect most politicians to put party about self and accept the will of the Democrat voters. Anyone believe Clinton Inc cares about anything but themselves? Also, about half the Democrat Delegates are “super” delegates. What happens if Obama wins the primary delegates and the Party gives the nod to Clinton inc anyway via the “Super delegates”?

Going to be an interesting year.

I’m surprised there’s no one from the Hillary or Obama camps on today.

Good morning everyone.

I am working on the awards from last Sunday. There were so many good, funny, insightful comments that I am having a terrible time.

In addition, I must have slept on my head as I have a very painful crick in my neck and I practically have to look at the screen sideways. I’ll take an aspirin and see if that helps.

Peggy Noonan had a column the other day asking the question if the Clintons could lose gracefully. We all know the answer to that. This is going to be fun to watch.

Oh, I agree. There is going to be blood on their convention floor if Hillary tries to illegally seat those Florida delegates (as she is now openly calling to do).

Last nights whipping has reportedly sent her advisors into "a panic."

But, she has vowed to "stomp out" the opposition, and her hoofs are the ones to do it.

It’d be ironic if it all came down to counting the votes from Florida :)

I think Phsstpok speaks for quite a few of us.

Some months ago I said to myself that the media, in concert with establishment politicians. is bent on picking the candidates and I wondered if they could do it.

Well, we have the answer. They can and they did.

This year’s primaries revealed a number of serious weaknesses in the way Republicans run their primaries. Conservatives should make it job one after this year to get their people in positions of power and reform the whole process.

Who schedules the primaries so this one is early, that one is latter? Who punishes states by stripping them of their delegates for trying to move their caucus/primary up to an earlier date? Who decides if it is a primary or a caucus? Who decided if a primary, in an early state, is open and that one is closed? Who decides to hype the media coverage of say a certain Candide squeaking out a win in state A and ignoring him getting blown by double digits in State B? How is it that the media spends 90% more time talking about Candidate A, who finished 4th in Iowa then they do talking about Candidate B who pulled a surprising 3 place finish? Why do party politicians line up, like good little whores, to all endorse a specific candidate? Who decides the timing of those endorsements to make sure they have maximum impact on the voter’s?

The process is manipulated. It just done in such a way most of us never notice.

Powerful people are powerful mainly because they know how to make their own luck. Powerful people try to keep that power. It not some evil plot where the faceless evil ones sit around and pick who will win this or that election. But by controlling the scheduling and structure of things the politically connected make an outcome more likely.

The Primaries are rigged. That doesn’t mean they are not honest competitions but that they are structured and gamed as much as possible so that the Party Chiefs, not us peons, pick the candidate.
