“That child should be home, with the parents carefully monitoring playgroups and other activities.”

Well said!

What was she doing working in a bar if she was that sensitive to smoke?

I understand completely.

What sets you, and many others, apart from the "dearly departed" of this post, is that you take actions to protect yourself.

It is rewarding to exchange ideas with those that haven't succumbed to the victim nanny state propaganda.

Albuterol inhalers are under $20 in Oklahoma, they used to be around $13 until a few months ago. You can buy the Albuterol and other types of nebulizer solutions for $4 at Wal Mart. You can combine the albuterol nebulizer solution with another one (I forget the name) to have the equivalent of combivent nebulizer solution. The combient inhaler is around $100.

Alot of drug companies will provide a person with free or greatly reduced in cost medicines if they can't afford to pay and don't have insurance.

Didn’t she know that smoke triggered asthma? How could she have stood it there before? I can’t believe this is the first time she had problems with it.

Smoke of any kind bothers me. I know there are going to be some jobs that I just can’t do. Oh, well.

No SHS involved. Anything could have triggered her attack. This is more propaganda bull. Its just a way to get a death certificate with the cause of death SHS to use for their own propaganda.

Especially since it took 15 minutes for the asthma attack to happen. If she was so sensitive that she had a bad enough attack that it killed her, why did it take so long?

When you're sensitive like that, all it takes is a couple breaths before you begin to feel it.

Thank you...I had forgotten about Walmart’s $4 scripts. And you are correct about the Pharma companies. All that is needed is a signed form by the doctor confirming need, and I would think her age and place of employment would substantiate a lack of income. This issue existed since she was 2, yet it will be used to justify the political agenda that is so prominent nowadays. The article is based on the researcher’s information only and for a scientist he appears to exclude much of the background information supporting his hypothesis.

——IMHO, if she had asthma since she was 2 years old she had ample opportunity to learn to “try” to maintain and minimize any attacks. I find it hard to believe with over 16 years experience with asthma she was never informed of any, or all, potential triggers and to do her utmost to avoid them. The article alludes to her inability to control the disease but stops there. There is a reason they did not expand on that comment or mention any personal identiers. This researcher has found a case to justify his research based on his political agenda.——

I agree. If no toxicology studies were done on her then how is it possible to blame cigarette smoke as the culprit when it may have been some perfume someone was wearing, or many other things in her environment that could trigger such a reaction. Perhaps the cumulative exposure to numerous triggers finally sent her over the edge.

I also think its more likely that he found another case that DETERMINES his political agenda(with our tax dollars).

I am allergic to bleach fumes and gasoline fumes. One wiff of the stuff makes me sicker than a dog. I have learned not to take a wiff of the stuff. LOL

Did they find actual “second-hand smoke” in the lungs or lung tissue?... No. Of course not.

“I also think its more likely that he found another case that DETERMINES his political agenda(with our tax dollars).”

Exactly. The whole article is written BASED on his research. He is the ONLY person cited throughout it, and he just happens to have a new article published (based on said research) and appears to be a grant-hungry persona.

The establishment has been waiting for this canary to show up for a long time; looks like they finally got what they wanted.

The coroner ruled the death was due to asthma; Professor Rosenblum is the one maintaining that it was due to secondhand smoke.

Michigan is still working on a statewide ban but having some problems as all counties and the state legislature haven’t agreed on it.

By jumping on this isolated and rare happenstance, I believe the activist’s have appropriated this poor girl’s death and the family’s grief as a springboard to success.
