McCain's Arizona Replacement Will Put the Liberals 1 Step Closer to Filibuster Proof Majority
2/10/08

Posted on 02/10/2008 4:53:51 PM PST by Recovering_Democrat

I haven't heard this mentioned by anyone, but just sitting around thinking this week...let's assume McLame wins the presidency. He has to resign the Senate.

His governor, Napilitano or whatever her name is, is a Democrat operative. She will most assuredly put a liberal in his stead.

And unless McLame has HUGE coattails (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha) he is going to be dealing with a HEAVILY Democrat Senate. Maybe even filibuster proof.

He for SURE will have two former SENATE colleagues (Hitlery and Hussein) whom he will have beaten to get the Presidency. And they won't be too keen on cooperating with him either.

Having McLame in the White House...boy, sure seems like he has a steep steep mountain to climb even IF he wins.

State law requires the Governor to appoint someone of the same party if a U.S. Senate seat becomes vacant.

Arizona law says the Governor must appoint a replacement from the same party based on that parties recommendations.

Well, why don’t you get your ass out from behind your computer and get moving to get conservatives elected to the Senate?

If we work together to get conservatives elected tot he Senate, this will not be a problem.

It’s not an issue, as McCain is exceptionally unlikely to win the general election.

How wrong you are, McCain is almost certain to lose to the Democrat in the General Election. I am glad. It will teach Liberal Phony Republicans the party loses when it loses it’s soul. For this to stop we must refuse to vote for liberals in the G.O.P. to teach them we all lose both on policy and elections when we act like the seconds decomrat party.

Rasmussen conducted a poll then chose not to release the data last week.

Scott Rasmussen of Rassmusen Reports conducted a poll of only “Highly Conservative Republicans”. The poll showed that as much as 16 % of “Highly Conservative Republican Voters”, said they would never vote for John McCain under “Any Circumstances”.

If this sentiment holds till November, it guarantees “John McCain will lose in the General Election. Last night only confirmed this polls data.

Scott Rasmussen chose to pull the poll for reasons unknown. but I suspect it was to “Prevent Panic” in Republican circles.

The data in the poll noted, that in even if this hostility dies down “Considerably” even if a percentage of only 3 % of Hardcore Conservatives DO NOT SHOW UP,
“McCain” will never be able to overcome a loss of base support, even if he Doubled the independent vote Bush recieved, in the 2004 General Election.

So it now apprars evident, The people in the Republican Primaries who thought McCain was more Electable in a General Election in 2008, did not believe the Conservative OutRage and contempt Conservatives like myself hold for John McCain.

Ah, first an honorable senator from Arizona expresses his sincere beliefs and is humiliated in a presidential election. Much later, second (much less honorable) senator from Arizona learns his lesson, throws away any semblance of integrity given him by the military and cruises to victory? I pray God we survive the upcoming lurch to the left and recover before the crash. As a military member, I loathe McCain. He is an *ss. He may seem to support the military, but wait 10 years and see how many repeat his name only after spitting.

I am starting to think we can recover our majority in the Senate. We need 1 to tie, and 2 to take back the Senate.

1.We have a good shot at the Landrieu seat in LA.

2.Huckabee would be a very good candidate in AR.

I’ve wondered how this could play out. Considering Arizona’s senior Senator, John McCain, a Republican, voted in favor of both amnesty bills brought before the Senate last summer, and Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano has backed laws put forth by Republicans in the state legislature, she could appoint someone that is actually much better than McCain in opposing illegal immigration.

My contempt is directed towards conservatives like yourself looking for a way to say I told you so. So rather than calling McCain, McLaime or McJuan(clearly racist) lets start calling each other sore McLosers. Better yet lets just find a big open field and we can all gather round in a giant circle and shoot arrows at each other. It would be lot less painful then listening to another we got to teach them a lesson BS. There is no such thing as a conservative majority, their never was. The right side of the middle gets to lead when they realize they have more in common than then the liberals. You have to have a broad base of support. There are not enough litmus test straight line conservatives in this country to fill a football stadium. Think I’m wrong, how many good moral conservatives stay up late checking out porn sites, you think all the millions are some how generated by liberals and moderates? Give me a break, I am more conservative about most issues than anyone I know. Keep your eye on the ball and the big picture. You need to stop with the outrage crap, were are all the so called conservatives? Sure didn’t show up to run for president. Surely conservatives have enough courage to run for president, were are they.

I agree with this comment but limited to the 2008 Congressional Elections. McCain will be a huge drag on Republicans but this is going to end up working to our advantage going into the 2010 Mid Term Elections.

The G.O.P. will to put it mildly get it’s rear end kicked. This will show the Liberal Carl Rove and his gang, that if you continue to pick moderate Liberals to Run as Republicans the Party Will lose lose and contine to lose.

With a Democrat to rally us to fight the Socialist for two years into the 2010 Mid Term Elections, we will rebuild out Party’s Majorities. So I see this as a revivial and a chance to tear the party down to build it back up to Conservative Principles.

It takes a good butt kicking somethimes to get the message out to the Power Brockers in the Party Rank And file ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We Will not support Liberals ANYMORE.

So dont be so upset this is a new life in the making.

This ain't a GOP site newbie, IT IS a CONSERVATIVE site.

McAmnesty, McCrazy, McJuan are all appropriate names for John "Traitor to the Conservative Cause" McCain.

Get used to it!

All you need to know as to why these monikers fit McAmnesty is the following:

1. McCain-Fiengold
2. McCain-Kennedy
3. McCain-Lieberman

And that my friend is the SHORT list of the McCain foilbles.

One of the positives of a McCain candidacy is that here in Arizona, we may retake two Congressional seats that went Democrat in 2006.

My Congresswoman is Gabby Giffords (D). She replaced Jim Kolb R-AZ. The RNC refused to back the Republican candidate, so the Democrat won. Rep Giffords has done NOTHING since being elected. It is a majority Republican district. The President of the AZ Senate (Tim Bee) will be running against Giffords in November.

I believe that Bee would win anyway, but with McCain on the Ticket in November, the Bee should win with about 60% of the vote.

The other Republican loss in 2006 was JD Hayworth. This district is basically split evenly Rep/Dem. I don't know if he wants to take another shot at the seat, but he might win it back with McCain on the ticket.

Excuse me, the new poster comment is not an argument, referring to any candidate in the term I described is at best childish, at worst as I described. If you will take good look at all my post you will see I am no big fan of McCain, but I will not abdicate a victory to the Socialist because he is not conservative enough for my liking. When I have to constantly explain to folks that being conservative is not a synonym with the term racist and then to come here and continue to see subtle postings that elude to just that is frustrating. Free speech not withstanding, those type of slang nuances are not in keeping with Republican tradition and are not conservative. To the contrary most posters on this site make arguments that are reasoned and stay clear of gimmicky insults and surname parody. Do I think posters should be allowed to say those things absolutely, do I have to keep my opinion about those comments to myself, absolutely not. Im an adult and such I think its imperative that I too raise my hand and say thats BS.

Just to add my two cents ...

Bill Clinton entered the White House with Democrats in control of both houses of congress. He really didn't get much done susbstantially except pander to his base by telling Bruce the Sailor not to come out of the closet.

George W. Bush swept in after the 2000 election debacle with Republicans in control of both houses of congress. He tried really hard to work with congress to double the size of our government. But he was the right man for 9/11.

Unless Hillary has some dirt on Big O (quite possible) Obama may well be the nominee and much like Clinton the First it will take him several years to figure out how to pull the levers and steer the ship.

If it's Hillary we are in deep do-do because I think with a DNC Congress she can make us take a hard left fast.

My models I have seen is McCain will carry California and Azornia but your map is aside from Missing California basicially the model I have projected will be the Nights Map come November.

This is not bad a loss is a loss, and will set a message to Republicans YOU BETTER COME BACK TO YOUR HERITAGE or face more election slaughterings.

The Republicans know damn well that they are going to get smoked in this election. That is why the candidate pool was so shallow. They handed this to McCain as pay back for all his back stabbings. He is going down hard and the Republicans are going to pin it all on him.

With as many Republicans as there are retiring this year, the RATS are going to take their seats anyway. It doesn’t matter what McCain does. The RATS have been busy (with ACORN’S help) registering illegals to vote DemonRAT, so we’ll never win another election. The only consolation we will get is knowing that as soon as LA RAZA and MEChA can get their own candidates elected that the RATS will be kicked out of office too.
