His politics were that of my political enemy, but he served as best he knew how, the American people. I recognize his service, and wish his family the grace, mercy and peace of a Loving God during this time. May he rest in peace.

He was the white haired guy with the thick East European accent that Rush would imitate from time to time. He was the guy that implied that Craig Livingstone should commit suicide after the 900 FBI files were revealed as being “mis-handled” by the KKKlintoon administration............

I think that Ronald Reagan showed the world by his friendship with Tip O’Neill that your political enemies do not have to be your personal enemies. While I disagreed with Tom Lantos on every political issue there was, I have no problem offering his family my condolences. May he rest in peace.

Are you sure it was Craig Livingstone (by the way, who hired Craig Livingstone--LOL!)
I was thinking it was some military officer he made the comment about.

The comment was in Lantos referring to the recently deceased Admiral Mike Boorda, who had committed suicide after being reported to have worn military ribbons to which he was not supposedly entitled. Lantos was implying that Admiral Boorda had taken an honorable way out and maybe Livingstone should think about it................

Odd that he should die just a few days before Kosovo blows up again.
He was a major player in helping set up that Islamic narco-terrorist state, IIRC.

Who did Lantos encourage to commit suicide “like Col. Borda” during a Congressional hearing? Rush did his accent perfectly as he delivered that infamous line.
To: Red Badger
Lantos might have wallowed in self-pity and victimhood after the war ended; instead, he spent the next 60 years trying to make a contribution.
We didn’t always agree, but I considered him an honorable member of the opposition.
To: Red Badger
To: liege
I stand corrected. It was “Admiral Boorda.”
To: racing fan
May he find the truth and subsequently peace in the afterlife.
To: liege; Red Badger
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I knew it had something to do with a military officer, just couldn't quite remember what it was.
Now, correct me again if I'm wrong, but wasn't Lantos the only avowed Communist in Congress?
