Jeb for McCain (RINO ALERT)
National Review online ^ | 2/11/08 | Byron York

Posted on 02/11/2008 12:55:14 PM PST by wilco200

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has endorsed John McCain for president.

"John McCain is a patriot and devoted conservative leader," said Governor Bush. "Like no other candidate in the field, John McCain has made tremendous sacrifices for this nation. He is beholden to no interest other than that of the public good. He is determined and steadfast in his commitment to reducing the burden of high taxes, restoring the people's trust in their government, and winning the war against radical Islamic extremists. It is with pride that I announce my endorsement of John McCain for president."

John “Captain Queeg” McCain. Voted against tax cuts. McCain-Feingold squelched free speech. Doesn’t like judges like Alito who are “too conservative”. Wants more rights for terrorists at Gitmo. Believes in the myth of Global Warming and will make sure it costs you $$. With Ted Kennedy, wants to give 20 + million illegals US citizenship. With friends like Captain Queeg, we dont need enemies. McCain is a LIBERAL and he doesn’t deserve your vote. Let him go down to a well deserved defeat.

He is beholden to no interest other than that of the public good.

Sorry Jeb, though I believe McCain is better than either Hillary or Obama, he has some serious baggage that makes this statement...at least for me...simply untrue.

One example...if McCain is beholden to know special interest except that of the public good (meaning the US public), then please explain to me the existance of Juan Hernandez on his campagn staff.

Ditto!

Jeb Bush was one of the best Govenors in the State of Florida.

I was very disappointed he didn’t come out and endorse Romney prior to 1/29 Florida primary.

Don’t you know that anybody who endorses John McCain is a RINO. No matter how many Republicans endorse the man, he and they are the RINOs. At least that’s the explanation from the McCain haters on this board. It’s becoming obvious who the real RINOs are.

To take the other side, what was Jeb supposed to do? Mathematically, it is pretty much McCain’s nomination (Dam**t). A lot of these folks are party insiders who are just trying to keep it together and coalesce behind a candidate. I think it is telling everyone who didn’t endorse until we had a final candidate. Are they really endorsing McCain or are they endorsing an anti-Hilldog/Osama ticket?

Ironic that McCain now uses the Bushes after he’s griped about them and “stood up to” them four 8 years, and after crying for three weeks about how GW cheated him in South Carolina.

Jeb is a RINO

He suspended the death penalty in FL because some felon wouldnt croak after the first of his good-bye juice injections. Another RINO governor, Charlie Crist, did reinstate it

He supports illegal aliens. Not only for the business-socialist crowd, but also his wife is Mexican

Jeb refused to take executive action, which he could have done under FL law, when Terri Schiavo’s husband wanted her dead. He had every right under FL law to do so....but refused.

No surprise he supported McCain

Or maybe conservatives should just shut up and leave already and give this country a good third party to consider. I’d love to have another option in elections rather than just write in protest votes.

Between the two families, I’m reminded of Archie Bunker’s comment regarding FDR and the presidency when arguing with Maude. I can’t remember exactly but it is something to the effect of how he didn’t know FDR was going to hang onto the presidency...

It’s becoming obvious who the real RINOs are.

It sure is!!!!!!!

No Liberal Leaders for Republican Party (David Limbaugh)

Sure, if I'm a paid staffer for McCain or a high-school debater forced to take the affirmative side of the proposition that McCain is a conservative, I can make a colorable case — intellectual honesty be damned — that he's a conservative. But I am under no such constraints.

Getting 50 endorsements from well-placed Republican officials or even respected conservatives doesn't make McCain conservative. Being a conservative makes one a conservative. I bet, truth be told, McCain can't even stand the word.

The Real McCain

McCain: Surprisingly Liberal

McCain: "Clean Government" More Important Than 1st Amendment [video]

Transcribed:

McCain: "He also mentioned about my abridgment of First Amendment Rights, i.e., talking about Campaign Finance Reform. My response to that criticism is I work in Washington and I know that money corrupts and I and a lot of other people were trying to stop that corruption and obviously from what we’ve been seeing lately we didn’t complete the job. But...I would rather have a clean government than one whose quote First Amendment Rights are being respected that has become corrupt....if I had my choice I would rather have a clean government......[chuckle]"

Bill of Rights * Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or
the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the government for a redress of grievances.
