Whites to be minority in U.S. by 2050, study shows Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 07:29 EST
WASHINGTON — Immigration will drive the population of the United States sharply upward between now and 2050, and will push whites into a minority, projections by the Pew Research Center showed Monday.
"If current trends continue, the population of the United States will rise to 438 million in 2050, from 296 million in 2005," an increase of nearly 50%, the study by the Washington-based think-tank said.
More than 80% of the increase will be due to immigrants arriving in the country and their U.S.-born children, who will make up nearly one in five Americans by 2050 compared with one in eight in 2005, it said.
Whites, who currently make up around two-thirds of the U.S. population, will become a minority (47%) by 2050, the report said.
The Hispanic population, currently the largest minority group, will triple in size and double in percentage terms from 14% in 2005 to 29% in 2050, the report said.
The Asian population will roughly double in percentage terms, from 5% to 9%, while the black population will remain static at around 13%.
The projections are based on trends over the past 50 years, during which legal and illegal immigration have played an increasing role in U.S. population growth, the report said.
From 1960 to 2005, new immigrants and their U.S.-born descendants accounted for 51% of population increase, and for 58% from 1980 to 2005, the report said.
But, the report warned, "possible future changes in immigration policy" could impact the projections.
Illegal immigration has become a top issue in the race for the U.S. presidency, especially among Republican candidates, most of whom favor of a crackdown.
That assumes everyone marries and has kids within their own ethnic group.
Simple solution to all of this besides enforcing immigration laws is for all of us white gringos to change our last names to hispanic ones.

Despite that it originally indicated both Spanish and Portuguese-speakers from a certain geographical area, it now refers to exclusively to Spanish-speakers. The Pew research center was founded by the Tribune company to create in house studies that upheld their agendas. They changed its name to Pew and spun it off a while back, but it still spews the same flawed agenda driven crap. Their methodology is - to put it kindly still fraud.

but then, isn’t another important issue whether people assimilate? It’s possible we’ll become a balkanized divided country with critical masses not assimilating.
A hundred years ago, we had huge percentages of foreign born and their children, and they assimilated and were not hell bent on celebrating the diversity of being hyphenated Americans, or maintaining their own ethnic identities. Of course until Ted Kennedy’s Immigration Reform in 1965, we still had some control over who comes to this country.

Good point, which touches on the abortion debate. There are proportionally more white childless women than of minority groups. The ethnic mix of America will change because of this. Whites are having fewer children.
bottom line - Will America’s cities look like 3rd world cities? Will we have balkanized suburbs? Will we have critical masses of people on some sort of public assistance rather than working for a living? Can some of these bad changes be prevented?
The Elites of this Country have decided to elect a new population.
The 2050 projections are pretty close to what California is like right now. Which means:
**Hardcore leftist Democrats win almost every statewide election, and control a comfortable majority in the legislature.
**Republicans only win statewide on rare occasions, and then only by nominating a total RINO who has some non-political appeal (i.e., he’s an action film star).
**The only conservatives elected to office are in isolated districts where whites are still a comfortable majority. Of course, they’re repeatedly outvoted in the legislature.
**The only whites whose opinion matters are the exotic ones, such as homosexuals, feminists, and Hollywood types.

I’m inclined to believe that The Rapture and The End Times will have reached us by 2050, thereby making this a moot point.
And conservatives to be a minority in 2008.
Affluence will soon push the Hispanics towards the average of 2.4 children per family, just as it has for other groups...
After this election, current trends will no longer hold true. The year will not be 2050 after all the illegals and their extended families receiving amnesty are made legal, plus the borders are left wide open to allow anyone who chooses and can get here to stay.

This info also doesn’t take into account any possible future “9/11’s” as well as any possible outbreaks of serious health risks which may happen from anywhere within the U.S.! When the U.S. illegal immigrant population continuously increases, then so does the possible number of terrorists increase as well as the risks to everyone’s health increase and crime rates in general increase throughout the U.S.
