Chelsea Clinton says her mom is 'the most fiscally conservative candidate'
The Capital Times ^ | 2/12/08 | Judith Davidoff

Posted on 02/12/2008 5:16:55 AM PST by redstates4ever

It was a surprising choice of topic given the mostly student crowd stuffed into a lounge at the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union. But the first question posed to Chelsea Clinton, who was stumping in Madison this afternoon for her mother, concerned Social Security.

"It is important to me because the Baby Boomers are aging," the young woman told Clinton.

Clinton, the daughter of presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, said that a return to "fiscal responsibility," as promoted by her mother, would be one of the ways to secure Social Security. She also noted that her mom, as she referred to Hillary Clinton throughout the question and answer session, was the "most fiscally conservative candidate running" and "the only candidate who tells you how she'll pay for everything."(snip)

Chelsea also spoke in depth and without notes on a wide range of Sen. Clinton's proposed policies...(snip)

Chelsea got a little flak from an older woman in the audience who took her to task for calling super delegates -- those who have the freedom to cast a vote for whichever candidate they want despite how the state votes in Tuesday's primary -- on behalf of her mother.

Chelsea disagreed that such lobbying was "unethical," as the woman charged, and insisted that she is motivated to reach out to voters because she is so proud of her mother.

Chelsea has a point, kind of — at least as it relates to Hillary’s domestic economy. I mean, when have you ever seen Bill or Hillary spend their own money on anything when they can grift someone else into paying for it, instead?

“Fiscally conservative” eh? Proves she’s another one with a marshmallow degree and/or no ability to tell the truth. One look at her mother’s completely idiotic health care plan should have cured her of that. Of course, since she shows no indication of actually taken an intellectually challenging course whilst at university, we couldn’t even be sure that she could tell us what fiscally conservative is.

I don’t know why I should care or pay attention to anything Chelsea Clinton has to say...What has she done with her life so far? If she is anything like those parents I think she ought to learn to keep her mouth shut asap. She doesn’t have any appeal to any of the young adults in my house.

Hillary’s idea of being fiscally conservative is abolishing the military to offset that socialist Hillary care.

I wonder if Chelsea realizes that her very existence is the result of a cold political calculation by two coldly political people.

OTOH, if Webb Hubbell really was her father, that could be a source of solace in itself.

Notice where she’s prostituting herself for mom? Madison, WI where the area is inundated with liberals TOTALLY incapable of thinking for themselves. They will not challenge her claims because they lack the intellectual capability to do so.

A question about what Clinton would do to make college more affordable allowed Chelsea to court this youth vote. Chelsea said her mom, if elected president, would raise the maximum amount allowed for federal student loans and institute a program that would allow service after school to count as payment-in-kind for student loans.

Subsidizing schools with govt money is the EXACT reason that tuitions have skyrocketed over the past decade. The more govt backs tuitions the highest they get raised. The Universities know that as long as the money is there people will pay.

Chelsea Clinton says her mom is 'the most fiscally conservative candidate'

And there it beginss. If McCain is the GOP nominee and Clinton the Dem nominee, they will have painted McCain as a liberal and Clinton as the moderate-conservative by November.

Articles the last few days have already started painting McCain as having a pattern of becoming more during his Senate tenure.

Exactly. Why is anything Chelsea is saying being printed if she is ‘off limits’? I mean that must be really nice to have someone who can say whatever they want and then not be questioned. I am not saying it doesn’t or hasn’t happened. I seem to remember when it did though, it wasn’t called ‘Chelsea’ but ‘The Polit-Buro’.

With the Pubbies chewing themselves up over just who really is a conservative, who is faking it, and who is definitely not, this makes a great deal of sense from a marketing point of view to pick up those votes that are not sure.

Couple this with the conservative Coulter’s vow to stump for Hillary! and you have a marketing brand-shift theme.

The RNC abandoned conservatives, why not offer them a new choice, a choice for change, a choice for tomorrow and we can do it! For the Chillun! (sorry got carried away)
