A veteran Florida sheriff's deputy is in hot water after she was caught on video dumping a quadriplegic man out of his wheelchair while he was being booked on Jan. 29, MyFOXTampaBay.com reported.
The video shows Brian Sterner, 32, out of his wheelchair and on the floor while Deputy Charlotte Marshall Jones is booking him into the Hillsborough County Jail, the Web site reported.

“The best I could do is offer him our apologies,” Chief Deputy Jose Docobo told MyFOXTampaBay.com. “There’s no excuse. This is indefensible. To the extent that we can make it right for this gentleman, we’ll attempt to do so.”
This chief is an anus.
The best he could do is arrest the police officer in question for assault and prosecute him accordingly. Suspension without pay is not enough.
“Records show Sterner was arrested on charges of fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer”
In a wheelchair?
I suspect there is some wobble in the truth in this story.
I remember an episode on Cops that the Police had to shoot a wheelchair suspect. He had a sawed off shotgun.
I think it’s a woman.
Looks like neither party has a leg to stand on.
again? This is the second time they’ve done that today!
Actually I think it says a lot for the chief that he is being apologetic usually you get some kind of “I can’t comment at the moment stuff”
Kinda answers the question of why LEOs always try to take the camera’s of those filming arrests and the like.
Black female cops are always the worst. I have known good cops, black and white, but never a good black woman cop. Same goes for TSA and other similar jobs.
He’ll also get “attempted murder” for trying to run her down ;)
Good thing there was a tape.
However, the guy had controlled movement in his arms, and was able to stretch them over his head, so he’s not technically a full-quadripalegic.
It does seem funny to think the wheelchair guy had been charged with “flee(ing) and attempt(ing) to elude a police officer,” though. His attempt to flee couldn’t have amounted to much.
Whut? A quadriplegic???????????
Did the guy have brakes on his wheelchair? Sorry. Just taught a class on Newton's Third Law.
Oh, misread it, thought this was another article on the TSA security dumping wheelchair bound passengers.
They seem to be hiored for their surliness..
Looks that way..
They’ll probably do it a couple more times too.
take your incompetent, your psychopaths, your deranged morons off the
street and put them were they belong! “the police department”
they had a point imo.
Shame one you.......
:-P
And their low class stupidity. There is fine line between these types of police “officers” and the criminals they deal with. You could easily see the officers busted and in jail for some offense. I feel sorry for anybody who has to deal with them for any reason.
The only white person in the clip ended up on the floor. Hmmmm
“In a wheelchair”?
Some of the damned things run on 48 Volts, they will flat haul butt! No way a fat cop could ever run one down.
He is lucky that they did not shoot him and tell the wild tale that they were in fear of their life because the wheel chair was after them. Sounds like the get out of my way at the drive through window.
Nothing will happen to the pol-ice as it never does here in Florida.
I actually cried at the indignity he had to suffer at the hands of that baboon.
Not to change the subject - but I personally have a dear friend who is wheelchair bound due to both legs badly damaged while on tour....
From the hips up — he is MORE man that any other man I know...
If he could get his hands on you — it would be over for you..
Don’t assume everyone in a wheelchair is incapable of being dangerous in a confrontation......
The Chief did what he should have done. Suspend the officer. Investigate. Turn it over to the prosecutor.
I can't think of ANYTHING that would justify the officer's actions as shown in that video.
The officer should be charged with assault, and sued.
The Chief took the unusual step of apologizing and admitting the actions were indefensible before the legal issues and civil case are over.
The suspension is an interim step, and unless there is reason to believe that the officer will harm herself or others before the prosecutor can decide what the charge her with, it's the appropriate step.
Her fate will eventually be determined by a jury as it should be. Unless she takes a deal.
Another post said it was one of those she/he's, but bad chiefs have bad cops working for them, they both need to be fired.
You insult the ash tray -
(I stole your bunny;o))
The obvious aside, where are the “civil rights” activists screaming about hate crimes?
Nothing to see here, move along.
Sometimes some of these people have a long history of gang ties. Background checks were better in the old days..
Is that for the Seizure World 500?
It was all caught on tape. There's no way they can intimidate their way out of this one.
It’s the WOT (Wheelchair of Tomorrow)
LOL!
There are many different levels to what a quadriplegic is:

Watch Murderball, you’ll see another side to quads.
And. Quads C5 (injury level) and lower can drive. They can do a lot for themselves, actually.
