As the democrat primary contest goes forward, some democrats are sensing a tear in the iron curtain of Clinton control and are making their break for freedom, not unlike some East Germans who vaulted the wall for a better life in the West.

She still has all those FBI files, you know. And Hillary is smart enough to know that she needs to keep tabs on her allies every bit as much as she needs to keep tabs on her enemies.
Could get nasty.

In the end, I think Billary will pull it out. They will probably set a new standard for "winning ugly."
The GOP has been blessed with incredibly weak opponents in recent elections--with the exception of Boy Clinton. McCain might actually pull this out and be next POTUS. No predictions here though. So much has happened in the last month I'm afraid to look past next week.

Wow, almost none of you get it.
This cat is surfing the wave of generational change. Do you think 18-30 is immune from the idea of war=draft, no matter how remote that option actually is? Or from the fear of wiping their parent's asses when SocSec exhausts itself far sooner than anyone forecasts? They aren't energized, they are electrified. They have their RFK, while we have...
...rockheads in charge right now -- it's like Rush said the other day, can you name the head of the RNC? (I can, it's Duncan, and I ain't googlin' first to figure out his first name, cause as far as I'm concerned, he's an overpaid "Dumbass!" ).
This abject, reject-all-reason fear of the Clintons and all their supposed power -- it makes me laugh. Maybe it's why we ended up with McCrisis. And it's why the DUmmies are going to end up with Obama.

Obama's victories are real. Hillary's claims about Ohio and Texas are spin and speculation.
I will predict those races will be a wash.
The fun part is what happens when the superdelegates get to see the poll numbers in those two states. The word is that they will show both races within the margin of error. Once those polls are available expect big-time superdelegate defections to Obama. This race may not even make it to March 4.

If the super delegates try to steal the election from Obama, the Dem party will split apart. There will be tremendous pressure on the super delegates to back the candidate who won the most delegates thru the primary process. To do otherwise would split the party apart and alienate its most loyal constituency and depress turnout. It would be political suicide.

And the Dims try to claim that President Bush has divided the country. They would do well to watch this unfold. It will get nasty. I fully expect the Clintons to fight like never before as it is their last grasp at legacy and relevancy. We shall see if the Clintons were really as ruthless in their first run to the White House and term as first couple as the legends portray them to be...

What a pant-load that is. Do any of these politicians ever listen to themselves? As much as they love to hear themselves talk you'd think they'd realize how stupid they sound.

You could be right...keep in mind that if this happens and the Dem-bosses do something like this, a fair number of Dems may just walk away and vote for McCain —he!! the guy’s almost a Democrat himself,—it shouldn’t be too hard for them to pull the lever for McCrazy.

The establishment isnt going to deny the guy if he gets more votes and delegates than Hillary.
All true.
But if the rest of the establishment wants Obama, then the Clinton's will simply kneecap Obama politically, and be done with him.
We don't know the method, yet, but you can rest assured - it will be ugly, it will be obvious, and it will be devastating.

“Dream on...”
Well maybe so...McCain will probably garner more votes from the so called “independent left” than he will from conservatives.

I attended CPAC. McCain is a dead man walking. There is no way McCain will make up the loss of the conservative base with independents and Dems. If Obama is the candidate it will be Dole versus Clinton all over again.

The GOP needs to heavily tout, now, why it’s truly the better party for blacks. When Obama gets Arkansawed, we’ll be waiting with open arms.

"Clintons brick wall was supposed to be Super Tuesday. Didnt happen."Yep. Methinks they didn't have much planned after February 5. Now, another shellacking is under way with one more next week. Perception is everything, as the Grifter knows. So funny...

I believe you’re absolutely right —and the Dole/Clinton comparison is correct...I remember the 1996 election being summed up in a thought as Dole saying: “It’s my turn.”
Now the Republican establishment has given us another bona fide, albeit ancient, war hero to offer up as a burnt sacrifice.
I fear for our Republic under a Pres. Osama Obama.

I can see the Presidential debates: The geriatric, Washington-establishment Rep candidate, one of the oldest ever nominated for the office, against the young, vigorous bi-racial candidate advocating change. One talks about the past, the other the future. One advocates support for a war that 60% of the American people believe was a mistake, the other about getting out. The list goes on and on.
All things considered, this is probably a Dem year any way. Historically, it is very difficult for one party to hold the Presidency beyond two terms. If we are going to have a burnt offering, better it be McCain. I won't be voting for him or Obama. I will be writing in my vote.
