Senator Obama's Victory Speech in Madison, WI
Obama08 ^ | 12 February 2008 | Barack Obama

Posted on 02/12/2008 9:15:23 PM PST by Racehorse

. . . the same Washington game . . .

It’s a game where the only way for Democrats to look tough on national security is by talking, and acting and voting like Bush-McCain Republicans, while our troops are sent to fight tour after tour of duty in a war that should’ve never been authorized and should’ve never been waged. That’s what happens when we use 9/11 to scare up votes, and that’s why we need to do more than end a war – we need to end the mindset that got us into war.

That’s the choice in this primary. It’s about whether we choose to play the game, or whether we choose to end it; it’s change that polls well, or change we can believe in; it’s the past versus the future. And when I’m the Democratic nominee for President – that will be the choice in November.

If he is elected, I do not believe we will ever recover from his presidency.

Wow, what a pile of BS. He is basically saying that we got into war because of a 'mindset' not because we have enemies that sent planes into buildings on our soil.

Note that he is in a sense fearmongering. Making people afraid and negative on those who tell the truth about enemies.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

“Bush-McCain Republicans”

Yup. smart rhetorical move of course.

But if he can do that, we can call him Barack Hussein Obama, the raised Muslim son of a Kenyan elite member of a brutal political organization.

He doesn’t really “say” anything. It’s really amazing, I listened to the whole pathetic thing, he never says anything.

he’s the guy in the meeting that is unprepared and has no clue what he’s talking about, everybody is looking around wondering what the hell is going on.

Loose quote:
I’ve seen legislative mandates fail for lack of change, we have to have mandates of change, hope in change creates mandates of change people hope and change mandates hope to change mandates that change hope to change.

“Change, change, change”, are we fed up hearing that word? Change to what, change does not necessarily mean it’s good. Ha, we may just be longing for the good old days when George Bush was in the White House.

“Barry is sinister and he is scary. If he is elected, I do not believe we will ever recover from his presidency.”

Heh, he’s not scary. And yes, we will survive his presidency.

In fact, I doubt if there will be any “recovery” needed. He’s a puff, a rock star, a Madison Avenue virtual talking head, with no real ability to implement anything he’s talking about.

When Barry moves into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, he’s going to find out how hard it is for any president to get his agenda turned into stone. Fact is, his ideas and platitudes are way too radical for the real world of national and world politics. He’ll soon discover that he is NOT King, and really doesn’t have the power to issue royal edicts.

You just watch. He’ll find out. Not to mention, he’ll galvanize our side like nobody’s business. I think this whole thing is going to work to our advantage, in the long run.

Alternate words, "We Are The World"

There comes a time
When we head a certain call
Barack’s people must come together as one
There are Clintons lying
And it's time to put them away
The greatest gift of all

We must go on
Winning day by day
His speeches, vaguely promising a change
We are all a part of
Barack’s big family
And the truth, isn’t what that we need

We are the duped
We are the mind numbed
We are the ones who make a vote en masse
So let's attack Mac
There's a choice we are making
He’s got us hypnotized
Then we'll win it at all costs
Just you and me

Bill and Hill are done
So they'll know whose in charge now
And the new leader we must now follow
McCain is next in our sights, he is, that’s true
So we all must lend a helping hand

We are the duped
We are the mind numbed
We are the ones who make a vote en masse
So let's attack Mac
There's a choice we are making
He’s got us hypnotized
Then we'll win it at all costs
Just you and me

The only downside is it would “appear” obvious, even though we don’t work that way.

With respect to the excerpt I posted, you're in a wee bit of error. He will have the ability and the power.

As President, he doesn't need Congressional authorization to retreat and withdraw. All he need do is what Clinton says she'll do on the first day in office. Tell the Joint Chiefs to draw up the plan.

Your comment is vacuous and foolish. You underestimate obama at your own risk. HE is far far far more dangerous to conservatives than Hillary could ever be. Far more liberal, and far more popular. He is to the liberals what Reagan was to us conservatives. A phenomenon.

Of course the most liberal Senator in the US Senate *knows* he is not all powerful when he becomes president. He’s no bumpkin. OF course he KNOWS that promises he makes now cant be fulfilled. BUT ... that’s not the point. He has a Harvard education and is an understudy of Ted Kennedy, the most prolific author of liberal legislation in the Congress. This man is will be the most liberal President with the most liberal congress, and they have an agenda of change.

CHANGE WHAT? Change away from everything we believe in.

As one Obama supporter puts it:
“Obama is our Ronald Reagan and he is going to obliterate everything that Reaganism stood for. Yes he will raise taxes, but the wealthy will still be paying less than when Reagan took office. Yes he will increase spending on the poor, the homeless, the sick, the elderly and students, but it will still be less as a percentage of GDP than under Carter. Yes he will get us out of this silly “war on terror,” bring the troops home, slash the size of the military, and restore peace on a global basis. And if he reinstates the “fairness doctrine” and gets that conservative hate speech off the air, so much the better. Obama is going to return us to the peace and prosperity that we enjoyed under the Kennedy Administration and the nay-sayers should just get over it. Only Obama can unite the country and it is high time that it be done. My only regret is that he has not said that he will prosecute Cheney and Bush for their war crimes, for illegal wiretapping, and for gross incompetence.”

He WILL move the political landscape of the country massively to the left. He WILL pass his tax hikes, end the Bush era of tax cuts, implement amnesty, implement gays openly in the miliary, and put pro-abort judges on the Supreme Court, instigate the fairness doctrine and public funding of elections, cut and run in GWOT hot-spots and grovel to rogue regimes.

... and that’s just the start.

His globalist vision is not about us winning the GWOT but about pretending our enemies are not the problem, just the US ‘attitude’ about it.

“You just watch. He’ll find out. Not to mention, he’ll galvanize our side like nobody’s business.”

Galvanizing *after* the election is irrelevent - we can be angry and dismayed and it wont matter, because the 50% of America that voted for him will not mind as he socializes away our future and remakes AMerica into a NewPCWorldORder ObamaNation .... So ... will he galvanize us now? If not now, when? If not us, who?

“I think this whole thing is going to work to our advantage, in the long run.” Foolish hopefulness, kind of like those industrialists who underestimated Hitler and thought they could control him.

If Obama wins, it will be a turning point. What we lose in 2008 will be lost FOREVER.

I doubt if there will be any"recovery" needed

1. The same could have been said about Carter. Iran is still majorly FUBAR. And Obama wants to surrender Iraq, which would destroy our efforts everywhere from Lebanon to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

2. Carter didn't get a chance to appoint Supremes. Clinton appointed Ginsburg and Breyer. The next president may appoint 2-3 more.

How much will Americans stand for this economic self-inflicted pain if he wins? I guess we shall see. Good luck to one and all.
