SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- A Springdale day care teacher raped a 4-year-old girl in an incident caught on tape, police said.
Cesar Monarrez, 18, had worked at the Royal Children's Academy part-time for about three or four months, officials said. According to an arrest warrant for Monarrez, the alleged victim described how he inappropriately touched her.
She told authorities that her privates were burning because "Bubba" touched her with a knife inside his pocket. Police identified Bubba as Monarrez, and investigators said closed-circuit video shows him pushing his hands beneath the girl's waistband while she was asleep.
Monarrez has been charged with rape.
Authorities said the allegations came out on Feb. 5, and the teacher has not been allowed back since.
"What I would say to parents is that the owner of this company and myself have an utmost concern about their safety. There wasn't anything that we saw or heard from any of our employees that would let us think for a second that there was something going on," said director Howard Davis.

of background check was done on the accussed PRIOR to the start
of his employment.

I hit post too quickly. It was a ridiculous statement by the reporter and I suspect the reason he hasn’t been allowed back in class is because he’s behind bars.

Wow not allowed back - how comforting.
So this hideous act was caught on tape and the director did not know what to tell the other parents.
The director should lose his license and the center closed down and why isn’t the perp in jail and or dead.

This is a day care. Any fool with a high school diploma can work there. It is just like working at McDonalds. That is the bad part about day cares. You do not have to be smart to work there just have a body temp of 98.6

Why, just because they’re male?
Both my sons love little kids, they’ve not ever worked at a daycare but they served nursery duty at church, babysat their younger cousins, helped in VBS etc.
In this case, the male turned out to be a perv, doesn’t mean all 18 year old males are pervs.

Why is this stuff still newsworthy.... It ought to be newsworthy. We shouldn't become so immune to this kind of thing that we just ignore it.
Also, people need to be aware of the dangers out there.

Thanks for the ping. He can’t burn soon enough for me.
He’s going to be a repeat offender, if he isn’t already. There’s NO reforming these guys. He will be a threat to any child he meets and when he finally kills one, THEN maybe something will be done. Sad thing is, it has to get to that point instead of dealing with it sooner.
Makes you realize the Old Testament death penalty for rape wasn’t such a bad idea. It protects everyone else.

They’re suspect because so many pedophiles gravitate toward those work situations. If they didn't you wouldn't be hearing of disgusting stories similar to the subject of this thread on an alarmingly regular basis. Blame the perverts if straight, well-meaning guys so situated are looked upon with a jaundiced eye. Many people, even the most liberal, are unwilling to apply a blanket benefit of the doubt where children are concerned. If I were to become a hairdresser, I would have to accept the fact that most people would question my sexual orientation. So, sad to say, must your day care friend when he perceives a raised eyebrow. It's wrong that he must by virtue of his position alone be often placed on the defensive, but it ain't a perfect world.

Being male IN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES makes him suspect. Come on, it’s not in your top ten of male-oriented occupations! I will not apologize for saying that a guy working so closely with little children invites a degree of skepticism. Given the times it becomes more and more and more an element of reality (like I said in an earlier post, blame the perverts, not those who choose not to let down their guard). I know, why don’t you go out and pass a law forbidding anyone from questioning the motivation of men working in day care? It won’t be the first enacted legislation based on anecdotal evidence. (I’ve got this friend whom....)
