During MSNBC's live coverage of Tuesday's presidential primary elections, after the speeches of Barack Obama and John McCain had aired, Chris Matthews expressed his latest over the top admiration for Obama's speaking skills as the MSNBC anchor admitted that Obama's speech created a "thrill" in his leg: "It's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often." Minutes later, Brian Williams poked fun at Matthews' confession: "Let's talk about that feeling Chris gets up his leg when Obama talks ... That seems to be the headline of this half hour."

It was funny — and wierd. A thrill up his leg. Matthews is like a teenage girl talking about a “dreamy” teacher. There is no pause between thinking and speaking for Matthews.
Would not be complete without reference to Scarborough’s riff on Matthews comment about Clinton Campaign Manager’s possible “feeling running DOWN his leg.”

Maybe Obama is the anti-christ calling his own. Thou wilt know them from their tingling in the legs and they will seem as uncontrolled teenage girls.
Chris Matthews probably got more feeling going down his leg as he giggled...
It seems his legs aren’t as numb as his brain.
It’s going to be hard for Chrissy to live this one down. He’s going to have to post a photo of Helen Thomas on the set to keep his excitment to a minimum.
This should be an object lesson, what happens when you give an empty man air time and a microphone.
