During MSNBC's live coverage of Tuesday's presidential primary elections, after the speeches of Barack Obama and John McCain had aired, Chris Matthews expressed his latest over the top admiration for Obama's speaking skills as the MSNBC anchor admitted that Obama's speech created a "thrill" in his leg: "It's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often." Minutes later, Brian Williams poked fun at Matthews' confession: "Let's talk about that feeling Chris gets up his leg when Obama talks ... That seems to be the headline of this half hour."

It was probably the fact that this was my first topic post in the 8 years I’ve been a member coupled with the fact that the link where I got the title from was not allowed to be used... anyway, won’t happen again... at least not for probably eight years, if history is any indicator.

The sensation Chris Matthews felt was the usual sh!^ that came out of his mouth which landed in his lap and ran down his leg. Matthews is an idiot.
When we’re excited by a sensory stimulus our body secretes a chemical into the central and peripheral nervous system similar to norepinephrine (NE) and dopamine (DA) called phenylethylamine, or PEA for short. Butterflies in the stomach, tingling hands, feet and inner thighs (at least, we women can attest to the tingling thigh sensation)-it’s all PEA release that causes it.
