This morning, President Bush Discussed the Protect America Act and really socked it to the Congress, hee hee.
This afternoon, the President signed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 in the East Room of the White House. REMARKS

President Bush on Wednesday said, "Congress has had over six months to discuss and deliberate. The time for debate is over. I will not accept any temporary extension. House members have had plenty of time to pass a good bill. They have already been given a two-week extension beyond the deadline they set for themselves. If Republicans and Democrats in the Senate can come together on a good piece of legislation, there is no reason why Republicans and Democrats in the House cannot pass the Senate bill immediately."

Defense Secretary Robert Gates fractured his right arm in a fall on an icy step at his home in Washington, D.C., and was treated Wednesday at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, the Pentagon said.
He returned to work later Wednesday and the injury was not expected to affect his schedule in the coming weeks
Gates slipped Tuesday night but decided not to be examined until the next morning when he got to the Defense Department, where he underwent a series of X-rays. He was taken to Bethesda in suburban Maryland and returned to the Pentagon later Wednesday.
Gates suffered a fracture of his upper right humerus and has been fitted with a sling.

I like the “hee-hee” with the link! He must have given it to them good!
Thanks for the thread. That is a wonderful picuture of Condi!
It was a good PICTURE of her, too. *SIGH*
Er, sorry about the double post. Got an error message about a remote server the first time I tried to send it. Plus my internet connection is very slow tonight for some reason.
Have this picture that's about 4 years old I would really love to have on a toaster. We are really going to miss this good man when he leaves office.
wow, early! We’re going out to dinner will check when we get back

W seems to be feeling his oats lately or maybe I have just been more observant of his statements and humor since I became a Dose hostess.
Nice to see ya...how is your precious little Piper and is her Mama better?
FR is very, very slow tonight. Wouldn't surprise me if it went down soon.
I think maybe in more ways than one....
Just today, while speaking about the Protect America Act, he said, "The House's failure to pass the bipartisan Senate bill would jeopardize the security of our citizens. As Director McConnell has told me, without this law, our ability to prevent new attacks will be weakened. And it will become harder for us to uncover terrorist plots."
I think that W is secretly getting excited to finally be out of that ratrace in Washington....and to go to the ranch for a permanent visit.
I am sure Piper remains adorable...and last I heard Mommy was still in the hospital. I had to come home because of work, but everything is fine. Thank you for asking!
See ya later, enjoy your dinner out.
Ouch!!!
I slipped and fell on the ice last Friday. Just a little bruised and sore. It happens so fast!

thank you daisy for the Dose tonight. I was noticing how tall & straight his posture is (a lot of younger people slouch so) and the air of determination that is part of that posture.
Again asking.. has anyone seen Nick lately???
hope he is okay
Thanks for posting that quote. I am so sorry that he can’t run again. Bet he would win, in spite of the MSM. He has done so much for our country and kept us safe.
It looks good.
He gets to go the Africa on Friday and I am sure he is excited about the wedding at the ranch. He has worked so hard getting it up to snuff. How special that Jenna chose it for her big day.
He could also already be in Africa on the Advance Team.
Being as Sec. Gates is a Texan, I don’t imagine he has much experience navigating northern ice. He probably wasn’t wearing the proper shoes etc either. Oh well, this will probably be his last winter in D.C. also.
A big crowd for the signing. Wonder if they served snacks..
No..I'll bet they had another boofay!
(Still laughing about yesterday..hahaha)

I hesitate to post the following photo of Condi as it is absolutely the worst photo of her I have ever seen.
double posted because it said proxy server error...
Thanks for the ping

Great choice
I certainly will. Lately it seems that his name in the DBM is "unpopular President Bush." Maybe with them; not with me.
It would be nice if the dose could find its way to the GWB Library. It is a fantastic record of his tenure, including comments of people who appreciate him.
daisy scarlett: Thank you for posting the DOSE tonight — I enjoyed both the photos and your comments!

THANK YOU for posting one of my all time favorite photos of our President — I already miss this courageous man and he’s not even gone yet!
Thanks Daisy, great pics especially EyeCondi.
Pray for W and Our Troops
How exciting about your new baby..I guess it will be a great grandchild. Tell your doctor to get you well in a hurry so you can enjoy the little one.
Hi Kaslin, everyone is doing double or triple posts tonight because of Proxy Error.
President and Mrs. Bush will travel to Africa from February 15-21, 2008. They will visit Benin, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Liberia. This trip will be an opportunity for the President to review firsthand the significant progress since his last visit in 2003 in efforts to increase economic development and fight HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other treatable diseases, as a result of the United States robust programs in these areas.
Good evening and thank you for the dose tonigh and Kas for yesterday.
Sorry was not around yesterday but watched returns on FNC and then did the toasters and then needed my bed.
I saw that too. How dare they! He is not unpopular with most Republicans, never has been.
Had not heard that before, very good, will have to remember it.
