The more conservatives avoid the “greater evil” by voting for RINO’s the more they are endorsing a shift away from conservatism!

As Howard Phillips has put it, with the Democrats in charge, it's as if you're in a car drivign off a cliff at 100 miles per hour. At lest the Republicans drive the speed limit. But you're still going off the cliff. What we need to do is turn the car around.

Bush has GROWN federal government more than Gore or Kerry COULD HAVE EVER DONE..

Such as the largest entitlement program since the Great Society.

Intersting statistic: Under Bill Clinton, domestic discretionary spending grew at a rate of 2.3 percent per year. Under Dubya, it's grown at 8.2 percent a year.

Domestic discretionary spending is non-entitlements, non-defense spending, IOW, social spending.

Isn’t it special that the AP is giving a platform for talk about a third party that would split the Republican vote? So helpful! Thank you AP! I wouldn’t have expected anything from you.

This discussion here is interesting and all, but it masks the real problem: to affect change, you have to get elected — or a party has to get their candidates elected (duh!). Once elected, the intoxicating effects of incumbency and Washington take over. No, it doesn’t happen to everyone, but it happens to enough that in 14 years we’ve gone from the Contract with America’s huge success to in the toilet with slim hopes for our future regardless of who’s elected. We can form a third party and start a massive grass roots effort. We can get people elected and maybe even a Presidential candidate in office. Great, but what happens then? I’ll tell you what: in 15 years, we are having the same discussion we are having now about that third party having sold out its constituents. Don’t believe me? Where is Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey these days?

Third parties aren’t the answer. There’s only one answer and its term limits. I’m truly amazed at the conservatives who either don’t see this, or for some idiotic reason are against the idea. The arguments of “I want to vote for my candidate” and so forth are all BS. OK, you vote for your candidate: John McCain.

The two worst candidates running are the two left standing. People can pass blame in any direction they want, until they’re blue in the face. I can’t imagine anyone could be happy about this outcome.

The truth hurts. The only question remaining is, what now? Everyone on both sides of this issue is very convinced of their prediction of outcome. Nine months is a lifetime in the world of politics.

As it stands today, I wouldn’t consider turning our armed forces over to Socialists. It’s just as simple as that. For me.
