He needs to subscribe to Freerepublic. The way FR has been going of late - there's plenty of room for 'educating'

You have to give credit to McCain and his family, and particularly his son for this. Something they can all be proud of...and from his son’s report, clearly indicative of the progress and victory we are achieving there.

I wish his was conservative, then maybe I could vote for him.
Anyway, can a son of a president (ARGH!!!) fight in Iraq, with a Secret Service detail with him?

They probably are both listed as Arizona residents, too.

"Things?"
You mean the kids?
One of those kids is adopted as I understand it and I thank God that there are people like the McCain's, irrespective of whatever other faults (and we all have those), who are willing to show the compassion, love, and care to such an one and take them into their household as their own.
I say God bless them for that.

best thing about that photo: lacrosse stick! although it looks like that kid is some neighbor who jumped into the photo at the last second.

Bridget is obviously adopted, though Meghan and Jack seem to favor their mother. I would assume Jimmy is their natural child also. This photo was taken only eight years ago — hard to believe Jimmy is already a Marine!
To: Jeff Head
Actually I think more than one may be adopted. I support them completely too. I have helped a number of families adopt.

I must give McCain credit for having a son in the Marines in Iraq, and not having made a big deal out of it.I agree, Plutarch. I had no idea one of McCain's sons was even in the military.
Welcome home and thank you for your service, Jim McCain!

I dont know about a son in Iraq, but Teddy Roosevelts son was an officer hitting the beaches of Normandy during WW2.

The global love cop stuff, the Wilson/Clinton-esque nation building always ends badly unless the populace en masse fights for their own freedom. Being the "World's Policeman" is BS regardless of the party in power. That said, we DO have strategic interests in the stability of Iraq and Iraq IS a "Roach Motel" for jihadists!

I must concur with Plutarch, as well. And I did not know about his son in the Marines either.
My hat is off to McCain and Jim McCain. God bless both of them for their service.
That said, I still cannot vote for McCain.

Yep. America doesn’t really need 11 aircraft carriers to protect our nation.
