Vikings Go On Rampage At Lodge
Presumedly seeking revenge against the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League for calling it quits in the middle of the season, several players with the Jamestown Vikings trashed the historic Vikings Lodge on the corner of Washington and West Fourth Street early Thursday, leaving most of the building in shambles.
Trash and debris were everywhere, especially on the second and third floors where the stench of beer and rotting food was almost overpowering. Bar stools were smashed through doors, and virtually every piece of glass in the building had been shattered, the broken shards unavoidable underfoot.
They were on a drunken rampage, said Greg Moran, a building inspector with the city Department of Development, who was called to the scene once police learned of the destruction. I was absolutely appalled. ... Some of this stuff is probably irreplaceable.

Did they put on the foil?
lol
A clear case of ‘roid rage! :)
They'll forever be remembered for their offense.
I'll bet that was a subtlety few noticed
Old-time hockey.
It’s probably the best they’ve played all season.
Well, at least it wasn’t during the Olympics...
What a bunch of morons these guys are, I saw this report on the News and was disgusted. You should see all the damage, chairs through walls, windows etc....
Clearly a result of the Gangsta Rap "Thug" culture that pervades hockey.
They’re pretty high on their culturals down in Jamestown, with the Chautauqua Institution in the area and the Lucy/Desi Museum among others. I’m not surprised the hockey team didn’t get much of a following, crude behavior notwithstanding.
Morons? Yes. But at least no one lost an eye.
It’s nearly impossible to get Sabres’ tickets in Buffalo...of course there’s been a team in Rochester for years...I wasn’t aware of this league though.
Which is surprising because the Sabres suck!
They had a very good season last year. I will be surprised if they do as well at the gate next year.
Hockey and MLB are so watered down today. They will almost take anyone that is moving. Now they have to go to work instead of play.
My guess is that many of these Mid-Atlantic Hockey League players did have other jobs. It’s a minor league that had no official ties to the NHL. Making the jump from say the now defunct MAHL (or something similar like the Southern Professional Hockey League) is a rare feat indeed.
lol
one of the funniest movies ever....i laugh every time is see “slap shot”
>>>You should see all the damage, chairs through walls, windows etc.
When Vikings pillage you have to cut them some slack. It’s what they do.
PL....Were you there for SCF game 7 ???? I work at the RBC as an usher and got to watch all of game 2, 5 and 7 of the finals....
.
I’ll never forget game 7....
.
and yes, the Sabres suck.....lol
Actually, looking at the photo a little closer, I see that its the end of game 7, so yes, you were there.....In the Party Suites looks like....
If this had been a semipro basketball team with black players, what do you want to bet you’d see EXACTLY that kind of post repeated 100x?
Even the American Olympic team wasn’t as bad as THIS group, it seems.
And again, what is it with these thuggish white hockey players?
(and look at the cute Hansen Bros posts and jokes. Again, if this had been black players, you’d see an entirely different character of thread.)
I was there for game 2 and 7. Have a suit.
That is suite 126B
I had forgotten about Slap Shot until this thread. Funny movie and love this clip from You Tube.

Otherwise known as .... a hockey game!
Talking old time ... my Dad took me to a Montreal Canadian/Detroit Red Wings game at the Forum in Montreal. This was back in the days when Maurice Richard was still playing ... back in the days before goalies wore masks. Back in the days when there were only six major teams ... the Montreal Canadians, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Black Hawks (best uniforms even today), New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins. That's when hockey was really hockey ... ;)
In one of those stories, the writer described how bizarre it was to attend a huge sporting event with 90,000+ rowdy fans . . . who stayed around after the game to clean up all the food wrappers, cups, confetti, etc. that they used during the game.
LOL.
yeah, I noticed that 128B was empty tonight (from afar)...
.
GREAT game tonight....
.
Maybe I’ll check in with you on a future game....
For the record, both of you suck! I can only afford a couple of Canes games per year. Relegated to watching them all on FSN. Am REALLY looking forward to tailgating and attending the Mar 8th Canes/Sabres game. Canes trying to hold on to the SE div and Buffalo trying to make the playoffs...should be a blast.
guard the wife and kids if you are going to a Sabre’s game..... WORST hockey fans EVERY at the RBC....BAR NONE!!!
Oh, it’s infinitely worse than that...one of my best friends is a Sabres fan and is coming down from NY to attend with us. :o)
