Exclusive: Dallas County DA's office finds cache of JFK memorabilia
The Dallas Morning News ^ | February 17, 2008 | JENNIFER EMILY

The Dallas County district attorney's office has unearthed a treasure trove of memorabilia from the aftermath of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in an old safe on the 10th floor of the courthouse.

It includes personal letters to and from former District Attorney Henry Wade, a gun holster, official records from the Jack Ruby trial, letters to Ruby and clothing that probably belonged to him and Kennedy's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, said Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins.

SNIP

Part of the two-page transcript reads:

Lee: You said the boys in Chicago want to get rid of the Attorney General.

Ruby: Yes, but it can't be done ... it would get the Feds into everything.

Lee: There is a way to get rid of him without killing him.

Ruby: How's that?

Lee: I can shoot his brother.

Just for clarification, the article strongly suggests that the conversation you have excerpted is fake. Whether it really is or not, who knows.

Mr. Watkins, Ms. Moore and several investigators from the DA's office found the boxes of materials about a year ago because they had heard that the gun used to kill Oswald was somewhere in the courthouse. They didn't find the gun, which Mr. Mack said is privately owned, but instead found the records and other items.

For the past year, they've been trying to determine what they discovered and began scanning some of the documents. The process is not complete.

The boxes probably sat in the safe since being moved when the courthouse opened in 1989. Mr. Watkins said he plans to donate the files to an entity that will authenticate and preserve them, as well as make them available to the public.

I moved to Dallas in 1975.

In 1978, the Dallas Morning News ran a front-page story about a new storm drain that was being installed at the curb, right in front of the "grassy knoll."

Now new storm drains don't ordinarily make front-page news, except this one required the FBI's and Secret Service's approval. Both agencies had their people meticulously scour the sidewalk, curb, and surrounding area for any missed evidence to the JFK assassination. Finding none, they gave their approval, and the new storm drain was installed.

Six months later, I was watching a British documentary on TV about the JFK assassination, and yep, you guessed it, they had proof that one of the shooters had fired the fatal shot from the storm drain.

I suggest you invest a little money and buy the book Case Closed by Gerald Posner. You can get a used copy at Amazon.

With all due respect, Posner’s book has been deconstructed. He only uses “evidence” that upholds his position that Oswald acted alone.

You should read “Case Opened” the author is the late Harold Weisberg who spent his life trying to get the government to reopen the JFK case.

Many, many, books by private investigators have been written about the Kennedy assassination. The following facts are in the consensus:

Oswald was almost certainly a minor CIA operative working in Russia; Mafia gunmen hired by the CIA to hit Castro were turned on Kennedy; Ruby was up to his eyeballs in Mafia phone record/conversations with Chicago Gianconna family operatives the week before the assassination; Kennedy’s body guards were called off the car’s runners minutes before the shots were fired (see the actual video on the net); Kennedys SS guards were mostly very hungover the day of the assassination, they had been out the night before drinking with the Dallas police at George Senator’s blind pig; Senator was Ruby’s former roommate.

The list goes on and on, not that our national media much cares.

The case for conspiracy involving Johnson, Hoover, and some people in the CIA is overwhelming.

Keep in mind, Kennedy was living a wreckless sexual life by the standards of the early sixties. Some thought him a prime target for blackmail.

Why was the TFX airplane contract given though the plane was inferior to its competitors? Have anything to do with one of JFK’s bedmates having her apartment robbed, only thing taken was her diary.

Again, Posner’s book is a crock.

Posner's book is the truth. Oswald couldn't work for, or with, anybody. He was a pathetic, ignorant, bumbling, self-pitying, big-mouthed, chip-on-the-shoulder, little commie screw-up who wanted to be a BIG MAN in a big way.

Read The Mind of Oswald by Diane Holloway which provides virtually every exising document Oswald wrote, word-for-word, and there are tons of them since he was always whining at the government about something and also left long documents such as the story of his experiences in Russia. The man was a barely literate, self-agrandizing IDIOT; read his own words. He simply was not capable of being part of any conspiracy.

There is simply no serious doubt, anymore, about his guilt, and his alone. The few people who are still cranking about the assasination need to GET OVER IT. It happened essentially just like the Warren Commission said it did. They didn't do a perfect job, no one could, but in the end, they got it right. Give up on this conspiracy nonsense; it's way more than tiresome.

Before you decide to believe Posner, may I suggest that you should read those who deconstruct him? Otherwise you have only one side. That’s the way the Democrats like to install “truth” from the top down.

Weisberg takes Posner apart; so do any number of other authors. I have read nearly a hundred books on the Kennedy assassination, not that it makes me an expert, I am not. However, I am aware of the issues in contention. Posner uses computer “analysis” from a company that has two positions it has produced, one confidently explains the one assassin theory, the other, multi assassins.

This company Posner used, uses the JFK assassination as an example of their wares to potential customers.

They claim they can “prove” just about anything.

Intelligent people may have differing opinions on this topic. But, the statement; “There is simply no serious doubt, anymore, about his guilt, and his alone”; is a flat-out lie.

Do you believe Oswald killed Officer Tippit?

IMO it’s a no-brainer that Oswald killed Tippit and that fact proves his guilt. Otherwise, how do you explain him shooting a cop in broad daylight at point blank range?

Similar reasoning destroys WTC conspiracists. They conveniently ignore the jet that hits the Pentagon.

Before you attack my ignorance, be aware that I have read countless books on the JFK assassination and have listened to all sides many times.

Yep! The article even states that the letter is fake.
Amazing, given it’s the Dallas Morning Spews.

It was in the back, and to the left.

If you want to hide something, try a government office.
