Can this be true? And if so, will it make some atheists heads explode?

I thought this has been materially proven some years back. I saw a TV segment which had photos, etc.

I suppose it *can* be true, although I hesitate to say it is. It’s amazing that, in the 21st Century, a place could be so remote that it’s resistant to archaeological study.

On the other hand, that thrill-seeking pilot Mr. Fossett was just declared dead after being lost (presumably) in a small plane crash in the United States. Just shows it’s a big planet where it can be hard to find stuff.

We knew this a long time ago... oh, and the Bible said so.

It’s going to take some dinosaur bones to begin to impress science. Finding a piece of petrified wood on Mount Ararat is hardly proof of the existence of the supernatural.

14Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

15And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

16A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

-Genesis 6

Well, I wonder if they can analyize the petrified wood sample and tell whether or not it is gopher wood?

Fossett was lost somewhere near my hometown, and I can understand why. Very remote and sparley populated here. There are many parts of the world that, though mapped by geographers and satellite have never been explored.

“Can this be true? And if so, will it make some atheists heads explode?”

Nope, the Eastern Barbarians have made sure no atheist heads will explode. They have RULES!

“However, he said, those who are involved in the project must ensure the findings are not used politically, religiously, or for any vested interest.”

one-metre-long peice of petrified wood

Ah, how many millions of years does it take to petrify wood?

If this proves to be the real thing, it’s one amazing development. Could the real ark have lasted this long without decomposing?

Yes, I saw your posts on the Fossett thread. I think that it’s good, in a way, that things happen that show us that we have very limited knowledge of the earth, and even more limited knowledge of the rest of Everything.
