“What has he (Perry) done to make Texans so riled up”?
Plenty. Opposition to the Border Fence (Only after he was re-elected with 39% of the vote in a 4 way race), his refusal to push 3-5% Appraissal Caps on residential Real Estate, his plan to forcibly vaccinate 12 y.o. girls against a form of STD, a new Business Tax (15%) and most of all The Trans Texas Corridor (Nafta Highway).
And many others too numerous to mention in this late hour.

No, the post asked for a dynamo person who can bring in votes -- not an pro-abortion, mexican-hugging, Palestian sympathizer who would be selected on the basis of affirmative action and who's candidacy would cause voters to run screaming for the hills when they're reminded endlessly of the state dept.'s "record" during the Bush administration.

I figure it will take a good 8 years to turn LA around. He won’t fake it like Clinton did in Arkansas. After 8 successful years in a “backward” southern state he will be unstoppable.

There are so many of us out there, fitting the description, but without leadership...

Crist is further left than mccain. gross. That would seal my decision and make it easy for me to vote obama or hilary.

One of the few strategic advantages we (meaning Republicans) have this election cycle is that our convention comes after the Dims. McCain would be an idiot if he decided to name his running mate before he knew what he had to counter on the Dim ticket.

What if someone is ‘wrong’ in one of those things on the list, but ‘right’ in everything else? Would it be enough to say that he/she is not a conservative?

You did not answer the original question. What is “fluid” about Conservatism? You cannot answer a question with a question, at least not to me.

Well, there are two great vote-getters available — Romney and Huckabee.

Neither of which helps win a state that Dubya didn’t carry in 2004.

I think Larry Craig might be looking for a job soon and his wide stance could help to expand the Republican tent.

Damn, four days old and you’re pushing FR regulars around.

You remind me of that baby tossing formula in that E-trades commercial.
