If opposing abortion is a dear issue to your heart (as it is to mine), then John McCain is your candidate for this election. If NARAL gave him a 96% pro-life rating, there has to be something right about this guy!

“If the best we get are a couple of young Sandra Day OConnors, that is a LOT better than getting two young liberals.”
True, but John McCain is very likely to appoint someone to the right of O’Connor or Kennedy. The GOP learned its lesson the hard way. Expect the GOP to fight like the Dickens if McCain appoints anything less than an Alito or Roberts!

So....Does this mean that we are supposed to be single issue voters now?????

Great , you write-in Hunter...and well get Obama...I wonder what his NARAL rating is?
You may get a Socialist from the Democrat party because the GOP thinks offering a Socialist from the Republican party will expand the voter base to appease those who are not Conservative all for the sake winning an election. It is a losing strategy because the result will be a Socialist in the White House regardless of the party and the irony of having the very type of President whose endorses the very ideology you oppose.
The unborn are not pleased by your decision.
All those who were aborted because McCain supports upholding Roe v Wade will unfortunately never know the difference or have the right to choose a candidate.

I wish all in Congress had a pro-life voting record as strong as McCain, don't you?
I wish he didn't support Roe V Wade as he stated in his interview with the San Francsico Chronicle in 1999.

Hunter isn't the only Conservative. I will always vote for a Conservative. It's amazing those of you who so vehemently support a Socialist don't understand that concept.

Wrong decision. McCain is hardly pro life. He certainly has no problem with illegal aliens killing Americans nor with our soldiers dying overseas - just as long as they do not protect the borders. McCain lies so much - is a sociopath or does he suffer from delusions?

Then you and the other .000000101% of the electorate who vote for him should be very happy...

So what pro-life candidate do YOU support for president?
And what are his chances of winning? (A 100 percent Right to Life rating times ZERO percent chance of winning is still ZERO).

Co-founder of National Right to Life Endorses McCain
Dr. Carolyn Gerster:
John McCain is the most qualified candidate and has a consistent and principled pro-life record, said Dr. Gerster. He has spent his career standing up for human rights and he will continue to do so as president. John McCain will nominate judges who understand the sanctity of human life, and firmly believes that courts should not be legislating from the bench. John McCain has the conviction, strengths, and experience to serve as commander in chief from day one and that is why he has my vote.

In years past McCain voted my way in land use issues as well.
Too bad he seemed to take a left turn somewhere.
you can whine and snivel about mccain/feingold, and all the rest of the mcinsane BravoSierra but the old geezer with T-rex arms is still our best choice

I'm sure a lot of proud FReepers, would like to take credit for McCain losing (especially hoping he'd lose the primary), and rightly so.
But on the other hand it would be a million times worse to have Obama as leader of the free world.
I disagree about the zero, are you taking big money bets ?

Then you and the other .000000101% of the electorate who vote for him should be very happy... When McCain loses, I don't want to hear any of this "thanks to all you cut-and-run conservatives who stayed home" crapola in November.
BEFORE THE ELECTION:
"Ha! Go ahead you purist conservatives and write-in your extreme right-winger! You're not the majority anyway!"
AFTER THE ELECTION:
"WAAA! WAAAH! Why couldn't you purists vote for our RINO?"
