To the left of Hillary

Hillary and Barack are scrambling to get to the left of John Edwards on a host of issues, but there is one issue on which Barack Obama has been consistently to the left of Hillary Clinton — the birth of children.

In partial birth abortion, a baby is born while the doctors are careful to leave the child partially in the birth canal. Then an incision is made in the back of the baby's head and its brains are vacuumed out. The child, being old enough, is aware and feeling.

Throughout his political career, Barack Obama has been a supporter of the procedure.

In 2004, as a candidate Barack Obama sent out a fundraising appeal against it.

U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama's wife, Michelle, sent a fund-raising letter with the "alarming news" that "right-wing politicians" had passed a law stopping doctors from stabbing half-born babies in the neck with scissors, suctioning out their brains and crushing their skulls.

Michelle called partial-birth abortion "a legitimate medical procedure," and wouldn't supporters please pay $150 to attend a luncheon for her husband, who would fight against "cynical ploy[s]" to stop it?

In 2003, while in the Illinois legislature, Barack Obama chaired the Illinois Senate committee that dealt with the Born Alive Infant Protection Act ("BAIPA"), a measure beyond the PBA that any sane person should support. The act mandating live saving medical treatment for infants born alive, as some children are born even though an abortion has been attempted. Obama refused to allow the committee to consider the legislation. He *refused* a hearing and shelved the legislation.

That's to the left of Hillary Clinton's position and NARAL's position, which was neutral on consideration of the BAIPA.*

And some of you people would rather Obama than John McCain. Pitiful.

*Updated: As SIConservative notes here, I made the mistake of equating the PBA and BAIPA. Clinton, Ted Kennedy, etc. supported the BAIPA, though Obama opposed it. Both Clinton and Obama opposed the PBA. I have fixed the post to resolve the confusion and correct the error.

Put another way, Hillary and Obama agree that until a baby is fully from the womb, it can be slaughtered. But, Hillary believes that once the baby is all the way out, you cannot slaughter it. Obama disagrees and supports killing fully born children.

WELL SAID!!!

Bill Salmon, Washington Examiner was just on Fox and said McCain is right on National security and abortion. I have never like McCain either, but Bill is right! Anybody that cares about the unborn has no choice but to back McCain now.

McCain needs to heed Bill Salmons advice...NATIONAL SECURITY AND ABORTION, are the 2 most important issues to conservatives. I agree with Bill, now come and tear me a new one!

And people will STILL claim that their “principles” prevent them from voting for McCain.

Dear Blood of T’s:

True conservatives will stay home or write-in a candidate in November 2008. If they do not, they are not true conservatives. A candidate must agree with 100% of the conservative platform or he should not receive our votes.

Best regards,

B. Hussein Obamaskinovich

The only thing to the left of today's Hillary! is yesterday's Hillary.

... and this is only a temporary situation, until the time is ripe.

Look, I am simply trying to be pragmatic.

But, IF Hillary is able to win the nomination despite not winning the people’s vote ( http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1972310/posts ), and Obama leaves the ‘Rats for a third party, I would be quite willing to switch to a more palatable conservative, IF that person had a chance of winning.

Too many at this forum rationalize their disappointment at not having a conservative nominee by equating The Beast with McCain. For them, it is mental comfort food.

It is nothing more than sour grapes. It is childish and immature without an ounce of rational thought behind it. I don’t like McCain and if a VIABLE conservative alternative is offered, I’ll jump ship in a minute. But for now, I’ll support McCain.

I will also happily vote for the conservative nominee.

Absent said nominee, it is essential to keep Marxists like Herself or run-of-the-mill nutburger leftists like Obamamama out of the White House.

The Beast is MUCH more dangerous than Obama. Obama is a starry eyed fool who actually BELIEVES in Marxism as the solution to all the problems of the world. The Beast only used Marxism because it offers her the chance to get absolute authority over literally EVERYTHING.

Some here said in past if it came to Rudy vs Hillary, they would vote for Rudy. Just wondering if any of those people are now saying no to McCain???

Rush was ok with Rudy, I lost faith in Rush when I heard him say that. The Great One said he would support Rudy if he was the nominee, and we all know how Hannity shilled for Rudy.

How can these people say that McCain would not be better than Rudy, the gay abortionist??

I have to wonder about some of these people that have claimed to be pro life, Rush, Hannity and even Laura Ingraham. Yes I listened to Laura and she started to say Rudy would be ok, I heard her!

The supreme court is everything.
