Jack Kemp—the only Republican who could lose a debate to Al Gore.

It is undeniably curious why the GOP is putting all kinds of people out there not to ASK us to vote for their screwed up non Republican candidate, but to DEMAND that we stop pouting and stay on the reservation.

I wish I could have seen that display of testicular firtitude in the last fifteen years fighting Bill Clinton, Tom Daschle, or Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

No, it was those damn pesky conservatives that kept trying to keep everyone in DC from just getting along, as Trent Lott and Bill Frist so desired to do.

Well, GOP, you were given an important lesson by the American people in 2006. That election was yours to lose, and you managed to accomplish that, by golly.

Here’s some free political advice: we are not voting for McKook, who is not a Republican and not a conservative, nor will any of the moderates and indies that you feel will replace the whiny conservative babies in the November election.

Just like the Whigs gave way to the Republicans, so shall the GOP give way to something else.

It didn’t have to be that way, but you GOP elites have wanted to join with the Dems for a long, long time.

Sorry to have thrown a wrench into your plans for the last 16 years or so.

But you won’t have to worry about us anymore, trying to save you from self destruction.

JerseyRepub, maybe the McCain supporters are the true conservatives. Look at his endorsements...Ambassador John Bolton, Gary Bauer, JC Watts, Ted Olsen..not to mention over 100 military brass; generals and admirals.
The rinos want 4 yrs of Hillary or Obama to teach us a lesson? that is absurd and inane. We are at war and their thinking is to the far left of Cindy Sheehan.

Since no candidate could ever be conservative enough for for these whining crybabies, who helped hand congress to the dems; I say, let them sputter, stamping their little feet.

I don't want Hillary or Obama. Almost anyone would be better. John McCain is strong on the battle against Islamic terror and the proliferation of their "culture". He will not allow us to surrender. He is steadfastly pro-life. Everything else is secondary.

If we don't prevail in the war on Islamic terror; and if we continue to permit the murder of our children, the rest won't matter. We will have lost.

I don’t follow all these guys all that closely. Who has the time? I’m sorry to hear he is such a loser on this issue. It sounds like you’re.

Reagan reached out to Democrats with conservatism. The Reagan Democrats came to Reagan because their party had moved too far left, not because Reagan was moving in the same direction.

Sheesh.

Jack Kemp...Bible clearly says "he who wrestles with us strengthens us..."

No it doesn't.

It's not anyplace in the Old and New Testaments.

I think that charlatan made that up off the top of his head.

Any of you Catholics know if Kemp's made up line is in the Apocrypha?

He who wrestles with us strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper.
Edmund Burke
Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797)

I didn't know Edmund Burke wrote the Bible. You learn something new every day here on Free Republic.

Sounds like a perverted form of “that which does not kill us, strengthens us”. Hey it sounds religious so must be from the Bible( think it is Neitzche or someone sounding like that) . I think it might also be in the chapter that says “God helps those who help themselves”. I love it when politicians pull this stuff out their butts and expect everyone to think they are pious. Sadly most are so Biblically ignorant they get away with it.

Good research!

Let Jack Kemp know.

But even if he had the source wrong, the message is still appropriate.

By this he is trying to put a good face on all the criticism McCain receieved recently from conservatives. But he is also trying to plead with conservatives, that while they may criticize McCain, don’t do it to the extent to make him unelectable against Hillarobama.

Jack ‘ole boy, we’ve done it your way since, and including 1988. That’s 20 years, 5 Presidential elections, 10 Congressional elections:

Do we have a stronger, more conservative Congress and Senate than we did in 1988?

Do we have better, more conservative candiates now, after 20 years of doing it your way?

The answers are obvious, HELL NO!

You can go to hell.

Nice attmpt to put lipstick on a pig.

You don't attribute the vain philosophies of men to the Bible. Kemp said that the Bible said what it didn't. When someone publicly makes that stupid of a mistake, everything that follows has to be suspect.

“Ok Pete. We have troops on the ground in Iraq, but you go ahead and help Obama. Hope you sleep well at night, sir. I forgot, was it Obama or McCain who wanted the surge...hmmm...”

Eric Shinseki wanted the “surge” years before McCain.

He was fired by the Administration.

And when it is repeated on FR after being shown to be erroneous is even more suspect.

If you are looking for a Scriptural verse, I think Matthew 7:15 might be far more appropriate.
